oh, that Jackie. she's too quick for me! i'm the one who keeps shoving all the Veruca Salt songs into this universe, because their music has some of my most favourite lyrics ever. and what's amazing is that, yeah, you've picked lines from songs that i've been toying with using for a while, which is so uncanny and amazing.

i have to ask, did you just look up the lyrics, or have you heard the songs? if you haven't, i can try and secure mp3's for you if you'd like. you deserve a present! i mean, how insanely flattering is it to have people who aren't me making MR icons? VERY.

You my dear, are the one who got me hooked on Veruca Salt, and now there's no way I can listen to 'Fragile' without feeling the MR vibe. So, there's really nothing uncanny about these icons ;)

And, yes, I listened to the songs to find the lyrics (and bought some second hand CDs). Thanks for the mp3 offer; that's very sweet of you! I'll know who to check with if I'm every looking for any in particular.

it's so awesome that you've gotten into Veruca Salt, i've been a fan of theirs for years and years. it's always nice to convert people. ;) yeah, if you ever want like, b-sides and stuff, i have a huge mp3 collection from the friend who introduced me to the band initially.

you have really got me thinking about using "Yes Man" as a song for Sirius-thinking-about-James. you picked the perfect text for that icon, really. also, "All Dressed Up" as a Peter song is interesting, i'll have to think about it, and maybe play it for Jamie, the Peter Guru.

oh god, i'm writing you a novella now, i'm so sorry, but now that someone else knows the songs i have all this stuff to say, such as: the title for patience arc story four is going to come from "Disconnected," possibly my favourite track on "Resolver," and that i think "Hellraising" is the best song in the world as a eulogy for Sirius (uh, that being a canon-verse thing, obviously).

'Yeah Man' is definitely my Sirius/James song, because it's just too perfect.

I like 'All Dressed Up' for Peter, because, let's face it, he's always being taken for granted, and that song is just very pay-attention-to-me-dammit! I think Peter just wants to be heard, sometimes.

'Disconnected' is a good choice for the Patience Arc (you're doing a fourth story? Yay!), it's fits nicely... /Finish the fairy tale you weren't drunk enough to start/ And I totally agree with 'Hellraiser' for Sirius, from Remus's p.o.v.

My absolute favourite Veruca Salt song for R/S (besides 'Fragile', of course) is Loneliness from Eight Arms to Hold You:

On a non-Veruca Salt note, Twister by Remy Zero and Maps by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are, in my opinion, fitting songs for MR S/R (but that's probably just me).
