The Death of James' Parents

Severus had tracked the black letter from the moment it entered the room. He had always thought that when that owl would come it would be landing in front of him to tell him of his mother’s death, that his father had finally done her in. He thought that perhaps a few other parents like Barty's mother or someone like that. The last person he thought would ever get that letter was James. Watching the owl take the letter to him...his heart sank, quickly he gathered his bag and got ready to go to the table where James was but James had moved out of sight. Gone into the hallways. Severus ran out of the Great Hall, looking every way for his boyfriend. Finally spotting him, Severus ran over.

"James..." he asked softly.

[James was so flustered he didn't even realise Severus was there, let alone he's spoken. He headed out in the grounds, unsure of everything right now.]

[Severus moved out into the grounds with him, watching him carefully] ...James? [he called again. Once he caught up with him he lightly touched his hand]

[James jumped at the touch and turned. After a minute of goldfish impressions, he shook his head and moved the last few steps to the lake. He lay down on his back staring up at the letter.]
