Last year on Halloween, I decided during the middle of the day to go see the remake of Carrie by myself, and went. This year on Halloween, my mom is coming over so I can take a nap, after which I'm taking my seven-week-old daughter to go get her picture taken in her Halloween costume. It's perfectly all right to struggle a bit with a new baby - such a huge change to your life, to your sleep, to the amount of time you can spend with other adults, differences in hopes/dreams vs reality so, yeah, don't feel bad or weird about that.

Will you permit locked pic posts of M. Junior? Would love to see adorable new baby! :)

I have no idea if you remember me, but a loooong time ago I was writing fanfic under this nom-de-plume, and lo, recently I watched Maurice again while running on the treadmill and did some poking about on the internet to find fic, was delighted to recognize a name in the mauriceficlist tags list, and thus came across your journal again after a long hiatus... and I wanted to post huge congratulations! I'm so pleased that you and the Mr are well and that your Junior made her way into the outside world of being a freestanding baby and that you have gotten the PPD issues under control, which is a huge feat in and of itself. Be well!

(And also, it is ever so much better to have a baby that is 1.5 lbs smaller than you were at birth, than one that is a good 3 lbs bigger. Do not recommend, from personal experience.)

(The Lovelaces have at the present time expanded to include three Lovelace Juniors, currently aged 5, 3 and 1 - which goes a long way to explain why we haven't been active in fandom in many years.)

I'd also like to give you credit for putting "Marauder" on the table as a nickname choice, as it's been very very apt for our daughter (the youngest), who spends her days taking off for isolated corners of the house and getting into stuff and requiring us to babyproof the house in new ways. This was all the more surprising since the child before her is pretty much Percy Weasley incarnate (only very burly, haha - serves me right for writing Percy/Oliver mpreg back in the day).

Anyway, wishing your family an excellent first winter, and will be enjoying poking through your backlog of fic, as I found your Maurice fics all to be fantastic!
