LAST PIECE.

LETS DO THIS.

CHARACTER MEME MADNESS Prt 3

Career/Training
Where and how were they educated?
- Public school system. Her middle school and elementary were fairly high end despite things though, as a lot of the family helped to fund it. Of course, since the funds were pooled before she started acting up, her school was paid for even while she was skipping it all day. Highschool was a big dip off the map, so that one was pretty sketchy- the only reason she made it to her university was her grades.
Who trained them in their class or job?
- Class room was for teachers. Kira however, did the training for the Doctor Career herself, and while she was strict and often questionable in her methods, she was nonetheless fair as opposed to abusive about it.
What was their relationship with their teacher(s)/mentor(s)?
- Kira's the one who made it possible for Yume to fade from society in the first place, and offered her food, a place to stay, a job... And without strings. Yume in no way relies on Kira any more- she simply chooses to continue working with that particular branch since it's the only one in her area. And Kira has more than once stated that if Yume wants to move away, she's not stopping her- if anything, she'll probably help her pack since she knows no one else is there.

Doesn't stop her from coming across as creepy though.
How did they happen across this teacher or mentor?
- Yume caught the first subway she could when she ran away. She took it as far as she could, and as long as she could with her pocket change, and wound up stranded in Chofu-shi. Kira happened to come across her on the bench at the station there and, after a few moments, offered her a place to stay.

Why she did this is unknown to Yume, but it has in fact to do with the distant relations...
Was their mentor kind, stern, cruel, indifferent?
- Stern. She could seem cruel, but at the end of the day she truly wasn't. If Yume was tired, the lessons stopped, if she was just being a prat (she had her moments early on), then the lessons continued because quite frankly being a prat was no excuse. The term 'battle psychologist' can really fit this woman.
Is this person or institution still in existence?
- Of course she is, she runs the building that Yume works for. Kira's in her mid-forties right now- since people are slowly living longer and longer (Heck, Mokuba doesn't look like he's fading away just yet, and he's over 110.), she'll probably be around a while.
Were they forced into their profession by parents or peers?
- Nope- Yume's the one who insisted on going after becoming a 'Doctor'. Kira just made sure she didn't screw up.
Did circumstances dictate their choice of profession?
- If Black Rain hadn't happened, she'd have probably still wound up heading toward Mythology and Ancient History- the only difference is that she wouldn't have likely considered becoming a doctor, and probably wouldn't be nearly so unsure about her future.
Were they a prize student or did they just barely pass?
- She could have been a prize student early on, but out of sheer stubborn hate refused to do any of the work. Starting in highschool though that changed around completely- top grades, top grades..! ...After she caught up with what she missed in middle school, of course.
Look at their skills. How did they acquire them (especially the unusual ones)?
- Hard work and studying. And determination. Lots. And lots. Of determination.
Have they ever done anything else for a living?
- Nope.
How do they function in combat (maneuvers, weaknesses)?
- Give her a stick, and she'll kick your ass. She's very good at improvising in battle, and while she's utter crap without a weapon she's still agile and flexible as heck. Not very strong, but she can catch onto weak points fairly quick... Even if she typically resorts to the ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK approach.
How would they best be defeated?
- Getting rid of the sword and overpowering her, outwitting her and overpowering her, or simply overpowering her. In the end, it comes down to who's stronger on most fronts.
Have they ever received any awards or honors?
- A fair number in regard to grades out of Highschool- she's gotten a few scholarships as well, which partially fund her school.
What have they done that was considered "outstanding" in their occupation by others in their field?
- Hnn... Nothing much really. She's not bad at the job, but she hasn't yet done anything of extreme note other than the minor point made from her involvement in the massacres Mamala caused.
What are their long-term goals in work?
- Um, live? She doesn't have any- she's not even sure if she'll go for the job as a permanent career.
Describe any traumatic experiences in their present occupation that has affected them deeply in some way.
- Nothing in her occupation really- had a semi-minor scare after almost dying in the Dream (and arguably, she should have), but... Other than that, the most traumatic is actually a reliving of an older one... Namely the Black Rain.
How do their relatives and friends view their present occupation?
- Her relatives don't even know where she is, or if she's still alive. Her friends have only known her in this career though, and given that she's fairly good at it, they don't plan to tell her it's a bad one. And really, dangerous as it is, it's about as dangerous as being in the military.
Is there anything that they don't currently know how to do that they wish they could?
- She wants to know if and how it's possible to separate her shadow from herself without making herself comatose. Spoilers - It isn't.
Are they envious of others who can do such things in a good-natured way or are they sullen and morose about it?
- WELL. See, no one CAN do that...

Lifestyle/Hobbies
What is their normal daily routine?
- Wake up, shower, breakfast, check schedule and follow it- will either be class, cafe break, class, job, or homework, cafe break, homework, job, or even just job research, job. The cafe break is lunch + homework. After everything it's go home, mow down supper, do any other homework or research, take meds, go to sleep.... Lately it's become 'get dragged around by friends' instead of 'homework' during the days she doesn't have classes though, and given that her marks aren't suffering for it, it's easy to see why it's alright.
How do they feel and react when this routine is interrupted for some reason?
- Well, her schedule is typically interrupted all the time now... Generally she'll grudgingly go along with it. It would have to take a fairly violent and shocking event to get a more noted reaction.
What are their hobbies?
- She hasn't really put much time or thought into developing any- the closest she has is reading.
What would they do if they had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse themselves?
- ...She... She already does... (And typically whatever she uses to pass time through the day- read, or do homework, or do research for a coming job.
What do they do for relaxation?
- Drink chai tea. She does this every night in hopes it calms her enough for sleep. Doesn't work, but she likes the tea enough that she keeps doing it, and the fact is, until she starts actually dreaming, it does calm her down.
What things do they do for enjoyment?
- Doesn't really do things much for enjoyment, though reading is again right up there for it.
Do they like to dress up or down to relax?
- Down- into the pyjamas!
Do they have a look or style? If so, describe it.
- Casual. Sweaters and jeans. Occasionally a buttoned jacket over that if its cool out.
What do they normally wear in bed at home?
- A tank top and shorts. In fact, it looks hilariously like she's wearing some other guy's shirt half the time, since she just sort of grabbed it off the shelf for the fabric.
Do they wear any identifiable jewelry?
- Nope.
Where do they normally put their weapons, magic items, or other valuables when they are sleeping?
- Glove goes right beside the bed in a safe place. What with it doubling as her phone and planner and all.
What morning or evening routines do they normally have?
- Shower, food, clothes. And if it's the evening, it's food, shower, pjs... And then whatever else she decides to do for the evening before bed.
What pastime (that they participate in regularly) gives them the most enjoyment?
- REEEEEAAAAADDIIIIIINNNNGGG. And admittedly, casual 'shadow battles' are actually kind of fun she finds, after helping Shou figure out his glove. (In the DR, she's going to become rather fond of dueling strangely enough as well...)
What pastime (that they participate in regularly) gives them the least enjoyment?
- There's this ONE CLASS she hates- but she can't drop it because it's required. She mostly dislikes it because anything the shadows say is discredited completely, despite it being a history course and most of the shadows being from ancient times to begin with.
Do they read the newspaper?
- She checks the news on her glove to keep up with things, but she's typically more up-to-date with... History.
If so, which sections and how often?
- She skims the first few pages to figure out what the world is freaking out over. If she has time, she'll read the entire thing though.
Travel: how do they get around locally?
- Walking. Walking walking and more walking. Oh, and that subway she takes? Before she even ran away it was replaced by a shadow, as have quite a number of vehicles in lieu of vehicle look-a-likes that don't eat away at the environment; specifically, it's an Expressroid.
What is their idea of a good evening's entertainment?
- A good book on mythology that she hasn't read yet... If she can even focus enough to attempt at entertaining herself for the evening.
Do they get seasick, airsick, motion sick (auto or animal)?
- Nope- then again, when you do twists and turns of all sorts within extreme darkness, that's somewhat expected.
Do they like riding animals?
- She technically does that whenever she takes the train...
Any fears in traveling?
- No- she just doesn't see the point/have the funds for it.
What sorts of general belongings or equipment do they take when traveling?
- Necessities; clothes, medications, money... Maybe a book.
What are their hangout places?
- Her apartment, and, more typically, the cafe between it and the campus. (Hatsu works there actually, and the location is why he started working there in the first place.)
Do they go to a bar after work?
- She doesn't drink.
Do they play pool?
- Nope- might try it if someone asked and didn't give her a way out of it.
Do they go dancing? Who goes with them?
- She's never gone dancing, but again- if someone forced her into it... Though in this case, unlike with the pool where it would quite likely be a grudging submission, she might actually like dancing.
What do they read? Scientific textbooks, historical novels, myths and legends, maps, cookbooks, romances, news magazines, science fiction, fantasy, horror, the newspaper, short stories?
- MYTHOLOGYYYYYY. Oh, and lots of history as well. Outside of myths and legends (and the occasional fable with liberal amounts of folktales), no fiction though. In other words, if the fiction isn't centuries old, she probably won't read it.
What music do they like?
- Techno, a few variants of it, along with 'quiet' music... It varies, but she avoids hard rock and rap. ...This was answered above though wasn't it?
Do they have a favourite artist, band or bard?
- Nope- she refreshes the playlist often, otherwise it gets stuck in her head and she ends up playing various chorus tracks over and over again mentally- not fun for her.
Will they listen to or sing the same songs over and over, or does it drive them nuts when people do that?
- Look above!
How do they exercise? Work out at the gym, walk in the morning, run marathons, play sports, couch potato?
- Her job and her 'transport' does that easily, but outside that there's training for said job, which involves working in reality- unlike with her work, where her soul is doing the fighting in someone's head, training and basic fights take place in a real-life field coated with the 'Dream', or rather, shadows. It's like training in an indestructible bubble.
Where do they live?
- She lives in an apartment complex on one of the higher floors- it's relatively small; but not so much that Hatsu and Reynard don't somehow manage to bicker and argue around it a number of times behind her back. It has a porch..! And- -looks down- OH.

Yume specifically lives in Chofu-shi, Tokyo Japan, which head-canon places about a district or so away from Domino.
Do they rent or own?
- Rent- apartment after all.
Apartment, house or castle?
- Apartment, durp.
How close are the neighbors?
- Not close at all; to them, she just sort of... Exists. They'll say hi if they spot her, and she'll do the same, but that's about it.
Is it a good neighborhood?
- Yes? It's not in a 'bad area', but at the same time, Yume was going after price ranges... It's relatively nice in any case.
What colour is the house?
- Apartment building is a beige-ish colour, with a nice big tree in front of it.
Which floor are they on?
- 13th. Don't you tell her about unlucky numbers and things though, this is Japan; unlucky is number 4.
Do they have a lawn?
- No.
What about a flower garden?
- No. And Hatsu doesn't count either.
Does their house have an attic or basement?
- Apartment, so no. She has a small balcony though.
What does their furniture look like?
- Think IKEA. It looks nice enough, but hey, student budget. She doesn't have much furniture anyway. Heck, here's an image of her apartment I drew up. Count the pieces of furniture, I dare you.
Do they buy antiques?
- Nope.
What are their walls covered with? Wallpaper, art, photos?
- Wall either has large corkboard of important things, or nothing... Though Shou picked a space on it to stick pictures of friends to, and she's yet to convince him otherwise. These all managed to transfer to her DR room, which is a duplicate of the apartment in all but slight details in furniture and content... Not to mention the bed-area.
What sorts of curtains do they have? Frilly lacy ones, Venetian blinds, pull-down shades?
- Pull-aside shades.
Do they keep their house clean?
- Sort of. It gets messy in evenings, but on days she doesn't have classes it's typically 'designated clean up day'.
Is it dusty?
- Strangely enough, no.
Is the bathtub moldy or coated in rust?
- Thankfully NOT.
What do their desk or workspace look like? Small and cramped, huge and expansive, covered in drifts of books and papers? Neatly ordered and clean?
- Messy until clean up day.
Can they find what they're looking for when they need it?
- Actually yes... And then it's clean, and she can't.
What colour are their sheets?
- Off-white
Satin or cotton?
- Cotton.
Patterned with flowers, or covered with pictures of toy robots?
- Plain of course.
Do they cook their own dinners?
- Her friends wish she would, but NOPE. INSTANT RAMEN ALL THE WAY.
Are they a good cook, a gourmet, or a terrible cook?
- RAMEN. EASIEST THING EVER she'll learn someday...
Do they eat out?
- Not often no- the cafe is a common coffee spot, but that's typically all she gets. Occasionally she'll get a snack though...
Are they on a diet?
- Nope.
Where do they vacation, and how often?
- She never did, but then her friends dragged her away for one... That's typically the only thing that gets her to have one.
Do they have any pets?
- None.
Do they keep a calendar or address book?
- Calendar on the glove and corkboard, and as of late, a small list of names and numbers in the glove and on the board as well.
Where do they keep it?
- Board is on the wall, glove on her arm or somewhere safe (like her bag)
Do they have a Will?
- She doesn't, no.
What does it say?
- N/A~

Miscellaneous
What would they like to be remembered for after their death?
- She hasn't thought about it- but deep down, she wants to be thought of in a good light... She completely believes that her actual identity is blamed, in an unspoken manner, for Black Rain though, so she doesn't think it'll happen. In reality, she'd likely be remembered for a number of very good things, even if she died the next day.
What kind of threat do they present to the public?
- She doesn't appear to present one, and in a sense, that's quite true- her suspicions of her shadow are now unfounded, as the Raven is in fact the least likely to 'strike twice'. Combined with her attitude, it would take a complete turn in morals to make her a threat.
If their features were to be destroyed beyond recognition, is there any other way of identifying their body?
- Her shadow? (-shot-) The only thing that would likely give her away is her glove, and DNA if it was salvageable; if she's dead, her shadow's dead too, and that means both are gone. If she's just disfigured though, she'll probably still have that glove...
How much is a pint of mead?
- SHE DOESN'T DRINK GAIZ. I SAID THAT.
As a player, if you could, what advice would you give your character? Speak as if he/she were sitting right here in front of you. Use proper tone so they might heed your advice...
- OMG YUUMEEEEEEEE START LISTENING TO PEOPLE AND CALM DOWN. YOU ARE NOT THE REASON LOTS OF PEOPLE DIED MMKAY? YOU'RE A GOOD PERSON AND holyshit you aren't going to explode and destroy everything if you have fun. THE PAST IS THE PAAAAAAAAAAAAST...

Holy shit this thing took up 25 pages in OpenOffice, that's more than most of my fanfic chapters...
