I just dug over a patch of my front lawn that was all bare because I'd let a bush grow too much over it, and it had killed off all the grass. The patch wasn't so big really, but it was a lot of work by my standards. I've sown the grass seed, and watered with a bucket (hosepipe ban, bah).
