Changing priorities

I finally decided to unsubscribe from most of the linux from scratch mailing lists. I liked compiling everything myself, and getting my system just the way I wanted, but in a way it's just another form of procrastinating. I learn a lot from it, and I'm keeping all my build scripts around because I expect I'll later revisit the whole idea. For now

What is GPG good for?

It's a public key encryption thing. Now that everyone has my key they can send me email and stuff that only I can decrypt. But that's not what I find it most useful for
