So didja see the season finale? What did you think?
I thought that was probably a good place to end the show, although I'd be sad to see it go. You gotta figure everything after this is gonna come off as.....lame and boring compared to the epic buildup and finish of the last few seasons. I read the main producer/director guy always envisioned it as a 5-season show and now he's leaving. He told his story and he's done with it. The network picked it up for a 6th season and the actors are contracted for at least one more, so they're gonna do it. I hope they don't F it all up and make it lame and cheesy. I hate it when things outlive their time and don't end when they should. Which reminds me....Lost finale coming up.....
I'll watch it regardless, cause Jensen makes me swoon. As far as "where to go after the apocalypse" I point you to Buffy, the Vampire Slayer. She toppled the apocalypse like 3 times over 8 seasons and the series continued to be awesome so I'm not terribly worried. I just hope Castiel sticks around - he was super fun.
Here's what Ausiello tells us about Season 6: Season six will be a season of mystery and shadow. Heaven and Hell have been left in complete disarray since the apocalyptic events of season five. And now, monsters, angels and demons roam across a lawless and chaotic landscape. And so Dean Winchester, who has retired from hunting and sworn never to return, finds himself being pulled back into his old life - pulled back by none other than Sam Winchester, who has escaped from Hell. The two reunite to beat back the rising tide of creatures and demon-spawn, but they quickly realize that neither are who they used to be, their relationship isn’t what it used to be, and that nothing is what it seems.
