This is an odd thing - when you after years of being the 'child' are suddenly the 'adult'. It happened to a freind of mine, who found for the first time in his life that he was in control of his father who had a stroke - really bad all one side & no speech. Anyway his dad got better tho' it took a while. Tai chi is really good to help stroake victims recover balence - inside & out. I met a really lovely chap who was told he wouldn't walk without a frame - 2 years later - after tai chi - he's a fat as any 70 year old & scampering around his garden! Hope your Mom gets such a great recovery.

it is very odd. i have felt this role-reversal coming on for a few years now, but with this situation it's in full force. my dad seems to be so dependent on what i have to say that it is a little scary. i mean, what the hell do i know about anything?

thanks for the kind wishes, and the tai chi suggestion. i'll mention it to her.
