Birth Story

Tuesday March 6th I went in to see my dr and because this pregnancy was going to be a vbac and my twins were so big he wanted the baby to not go past my due date. So that morning he stretched my cervix. Later that night the mat ward called and asked if I was having any contractions but no, I wasn't. So they told me to come in the morning to get the dr to break my waters. I went in about 8am, got the lovely NST done and then after awhile trying to actually get at it my dr broke my water. I started having contractions about every 3 minutes apart at 10:30. Nothing too painful. They started to get more irritable around noon. AT 1:45 the nurse checked me and I had dilated to 5cm. Then the contractions got to the I want my mommy crying point lol At 2pm I was dilated to 8cm. I got up to go to the bathroom came back and layed down and all of a sudden my body started pushing. The nurses scrambled in and were yelling to call the dr. There was no way my little baby was going to wait anymore lol The dr finally arrived about 20 mins later. I was well on my way to getting that baby out. After about another 20 minutes of pushing the dr gave me an episiotomy(sp?) because his head was just alittle too big for me and the dr didn't want me pushing for too much longer. As soon as he cut on the next push Reign was born. 3:11pm. After getting stiched and cleaned I finally settled down to rest with my beautiful little boy. And so far recovery is good. Not too much pain with the stitches. And Reign is doing great! He's so content. And as for his name I'm not exactly sure how I came up with the first name. I thought of a little prince and that just popped into my head. His room is all knights and dragons. It's so cute. As for his middle name, he's named after my mom who does more for us than I could ever thank her for. I wanted him to have a special piece of her forever.
