Well, less than one week to go now. This past weekend turned out quite well while I'm sure thousands of others are stressing out. That's not to say I'm not worried, but I decided I needed a mental break.

Saturday I stopped into Urban to say hi to Jess and now looks like I'm going to Fusion this week with her and taking Erica and Andrew with me. I read for a little while at Sweetwater's in search of a new reading locale. A chatty mother/daughter group quickly nullifed the effect of a calming pot of white tea and I vacated. I took the rest of the day for myself. Explored Crazy Wisdom and found some fun future reading, the antique shop was closed so I'll have to hold off on my new project for a little while, the stone shop of liberty had some nice stuff, and I finally stopped by Wizzywigs. Drew was there and after convincing myself I really wasn't going to get anything done today, picked up my first Gundam model. Been wanting my own little death machine for a while and Drew and I figured it'd be a great way to just Zen for a while and not do too much thinking.

With model in tow I headed home, got some pizzas and headed to Brendan's for the last anime night of the summer. The anime was fun, food fattening, and I spent a good deal of time on my God/Burning Gundam. Finished it by the end and while it looks a bit messy (one of the inner parts got cracked, not all the nubs got taken off, and I now have a mini Gundam blister on my thumb) It's still a cute addition to my fall out zone of a room.

Around 10 I headed back to campus after a quick shower for Jay's going away party. Met up with Chani and Pat there, took a small leave in order to help Chani move stuff into Newberry, then we went and chatted it up for the rest of the night. Had to live vicariously through Chani at one point, but that's another story.

Sunday, I read a good deal in the morning, then after calling Jeff for lunch at China Gate, ended up embarking with him to the mall and then to Ypsi for a little before he had to head home and get ready for a movie night with JP. I talked with Cate for a while at the Safe Sex Store, then crashed and read for a bit longer. Andrew was moving stuff around at his place, but the prospect of a free dinner was plenty to get him over for soup, pasta, smoothies, and Simpsons/Family Guy.

And so the summer starts to draw to a close. This time next week I'll be in CT with the 'rents and my sister who I apparently get along with. But for now, my grand total of pets has gone from 3 tadpoles and a snail to a single fat tadpole and a rather distraught snail.
