Today I slammed my hand through a plate glass door. The fact that I am typing this is proof that I was not injured. It was just one damaged door, a superficial wound and a BIG bang

Oh yes, I'm good, thanks for asking! I think the whole thing sounds (and looked) worse than it was. I was covered in glass, but the only real scratch I sustained was across my left palm, where I was trying to catch the door before it closed. And even that scratch was very shallow. My coworkers cleaned me up really fast, cleaned and bandaged the scratch and made me take off my sweater with all the tiny bits of class on it. So, overall, I was really lucky.

Whew, go safety glass!

well, i don't think it was safety glass. safety glass breaks into small pebbles. this stuff broke into irregular shards. technically though, since it i wasn't hurt, it could still qualify as safety glass.
