The relief she felt when it turned out to be Country Boy on the other side of the door was almost palpable. "My frand!" She didn't let him inside, didn't need to, her backpack style purse already slung over one (uninjured) shoulder and her shoes on her feet. Chuck was ready to go. Anywhere.
"I need coffee." She also needed to let go of Liam. She hadn't realized that what started as a friendly hello hug had turned into virtually clinging to the young man.

"Coffee sounds good," he said, smiling down at the little blonde. "What do you say we stop by the bakery to pick up some coffee and danish and whatever?" Whatever meaning black and whites, of course. "We can decide where else to go from there."

"I can't believe they don't sell black and whites anywhere else. That's such a tragic bee, frand." She gave him a sympathetic look that was lacking sincerity due to the quick way it dissolved into a smirk.

He gave his friend a small, reassuring smile when she looked up at him. Chuck and Marcus ... no, he realized that hadn't ever and wouldn't ever happen. They had too much of a brother-sister dynamic between them. Snuggling her close again, Liam kissed her forehead before answering her question. "Yes, I'd like to know."

"I asked you to be with me because I was curious. I wanted to know what it was like, right? And you showed me." Deep breath there and then she let it out slowly, moment of truth time. "I asked you because I trust you and I know you're someone who is nice to me because you really mean it and I know you really well." As well as she thought a girl could know a guy, anyway. "So I figured I could trust you not to hurt me and I was right. And then it stopped just being all about gathering information because I was curious. I wanted to be with you." Barely aware of the way his lips were curving into a gentle and slightly silly smile, he reached to run a finger along her hairline, brushing a lock off her forehead before tucking it into the rest of her hair. "It was special, pretty Pixie." Finally words, in a voice gone slightly hoarse. "And I want to feel that way again with you too."
A slight laugh leaked out at the end. "When I hit my head on the wall? Really?" He'd felt more or less like a dork at the time.
