Today, 4pm EST"Where are they?" Liam looked around anxiously as he entered his uncle's apartment, blocking his father's way until Anraí nudged him further forward

Last minute ingredients turned into a stop for coffee and screwing around in the lobby and even a game of elevator BINGO. By the time Chuck and Marcus returned to the apartment, the tiny blonde was as hopped up on caffeine as Marcus was on general mischief and birthday shenanigans. She was, in fact, running literal circles around him as he tried to open the door while juggling a shopping bag and a cup of still-hot coffee.
"Chuck...gimme a hand?"
The sound of rapid applause and her giggling could be heard from the foyer to the puca's city home.
"Pint-sized bitch."
"Gimme coffee."
"Don't drink it."
"Gimme coffee."
"Don't drink i--"
"LIAM!" Ah, the door had been opened and Marcus forgotten as Chuck ran into the living room and threw herself at the dark-haired boy. A cup of coffee was sacrificed to the floor gods in the process.
"Chuck...you tard." His coffee. His wonderful, so full of sugar it was almost syrup coffee. Soaking into the carpet.
Liam might have noticed Aunt Cait tsking as she took Marcus shopping back and headed to the kitchen for a) paper towels and b) a replacement cup of coffee. He might have paid attention to his Da giving his cousin a hug of greeting and best birthday wishes in murmured Gaeilge. Having a lap full of minute blond girl kissing his socks off, however, made focusing on anything else difficult.
"Hey, Pixie," he finally got out, still a little breathless from the kiss. Grinning up at Marcus, he added, "Happy belated birthday, dude. Mam sent along lemon meringue and dutch apple pies for later."
"She killed my coffee." That, Marcus grumbled as he hugged his Uncail Anrai and the pout came as Cait handed him a fistful of paper towels. "Make her clean it up."
"You didn't tell me you were coming." The tiny girl was giving Liam a pout of her own as she leaned back in his embrace. "I'm mad at you." Only she really didn't sound very convincing as Marcus forced the wad of paper products on her.
"You killed my coffee." Yet Marcus stooped down to mash the girl between himself and Liam as he hugged his cousin hello.
Liam hugged back, a huge grin still firmly in place. It didn't matter that he'd spent most of his summer with Marcus and Chuck. They were still two of his favorite people in the world, and any time he could spend with his girl and his cousin/brother/best friend was good times.
"No, I didn't tell you," he replied without letting go just yet. "It's called a surprise." He wasn't going to mention the other surprise next to him, deciding instead to wait until the little blonde noticed.
