There are three turtles sitting on my bookshelf and they are the best things ever. I have been talking to them about Don Quixote. Who is not the same as Don Coyote and Sancho Panda, so long story short I have a lot of reading to do for class tonight ( Read more... )

This post reminds me: Do you know Rebecca Pryor? If you don't, I highly recommend that you do, though it'll have to be next year because she's taking a year off from St John's Santa Fe to go on a cross country bike ride. Long story short, she's awesome and I was a counselor with her this summer at Quaker camp.

In other news, I haven't talked to you in forever, and I miss you.

What seriously? She was in my math tutorial last year. She's a Quaker? That explains a lot about how awesome she is. I didn't know her too well but she seemed like one of those irrepressibly awesome types.

And it's been far too long, agreed. I didn't see anyone from TJ this summer, with my wacked out work schedule and distance from everybody. I'll remedy that... Sometime.

You should give me a ring sometime! Or shoot me an email! Something, you know? I'll probably bug you sometime after I finish Don Quixote.

Hooray for turtles! What kind are they? Turtles are the best listeners, particularly when it comes to topics that you can't get anybody else to listen to for hours on end until you nail their feet to the floor (and that ruins a lot of rugs, believe you me).

They are wood! Well one of them is clay and paint. They are very cute and made of something called Desert Ironwood apparently. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olneya_tesota ) So yes.

And I would listen to you for hours on end without any nails involved. *Bats eyelashes.*

Today I bought gloves and an air freshener because guy dorms smell like ass. :(

It's funny cuz it's true...

Also, mmm Taos. I went to the yarn store there, and they were totally into the whole New Age thing ("Let... the yarn... speak to you..."), particularly Venus. It was pretty awesome. That's a beautiful picture, by the way.

That pretty much sums up Taos. Taos is what Santa Fe, as I understand, was twenty-five years ago: A place for burnt out hippies and wacked out New Agers to get back to their weirdness without interference from the MAN.

And yes, yes they smell like ass so much like ass. :( Right now they also smell like pop tarts, which is nice!

But mostly ass.

The scenery makes me want to be you when I grow up. Except for the guy part. Because of the ass smell.

(And if I ever get a turtle, his name is Sancho Panza because of what you just said. Because Cervantes is glorious.)

I am naming one of my little turtles Sancho. I haven't decided which yet. Probably the fat one.

It is bizarrely gratifying to see a guy admit that. ...Even if it is you.

Yeah, about that not seeing anyone ever thing! Pretty lame. Are you going to be home in December at all? Because something should happen, and preferably before I graduate and the world ends.

Hmm, those pictures are gorgeous.

Well they do, I have to admit. They're horrid. So yes, I'm airing things otu at the moment.

I am going home in December. Which is where Alli is, coincidentally. :O

They are; I'm still working on getting everything developed. Took a /lot/ of pictures.

Well, if you can tear yourself away from the banging sex at some point, I'd like to see you.

And you ought to post more pictures when they're developed. :D

I think that's doable! Working on the pictures, I need to get down into town.

The spectacular part is now Kate is working like three blocks from where Alli lives. Ahahaha.

Also your icon is awesome.
