One of the most annoying things about being home is when I hear people making generalizations about India. It was not something I expected would happen when I was home but I notice almost every time India comes up I get to here these grandiose statements about India or Indians. You never really know the soul of a place until you live there. And you never really know happiness until you know yourself.

Haha, I'm paraphrasing, but it's pretty obvious. Even though I consider myself a materialistic person, I tend to think of it more like... I appreciate beauty and I want beautiful things, y'know? I suppose that's why I'd make a terrible Buddhist, because my entire life and experience is lived through a love of the world around me and even if there is plenty of suffering, there is an equal amount of joy, y'know?

And I try not to make sweeping judgements. It's not just that there's always exceptions--it's that you really can't ascribe qualities to an entire group of people, not really. Everyone's different--but also the same, in the most important way.

Am I making any sense? lol
