Driving Mr Wandell 14/?

Warning: This is Alternative Universe-story. If you can't stand to see Kevin/Scotty/Others in situations that are Out Of Character, stay away and don't whine to me about it.

By Marea67
About: Mainly Kevin/Scotty
Rate: Depending on the chapter - This one: G
Disclaimer: Brothers & Sister belongs to ABC, but thanks to this AU Kevin/Scotty can at least kiss.
Summary: walkersfics  wondered: "How come even in AUs Kevin is always the one saving Scotty?" And though she has her own great storyline for that, it sure made me think: “What if….?”

*****

Kevin makes a little noise before he wakes up. For a few moments he doesn’t know where he is. Hotel? His apartment? Then he registers the warm body pressed against his own and he smiles. Scotty. Of course. He’s in Scotty bed. That bed where he plans to spend his nights from now on. He closes his eyes again and he remembers last night.

As he promised, Scotty doesn’t insist. They both undress. Scotty offers Kevin a guest-tooth-brush from the guest-room and Scotty gives Kevin some privacy, as he folds back the duvet. When Kevin exits the bathroom he looks nervous and shy, so Scotty smiles at him.

“Care to join me?” He asks hopeful. Kevin sits down next to him. They each stay meticulously on their own half of the bed.
“ I bet this isn’t what you planned for us for tonight?” Kevin’s voice is very soft.
“No.” Scotty admits. “But I’m happy you’re here…. It’s okay.”

He caresses Kevin’s arm gently, before he lies down. Kevin follow his example and lies down as well. Scotty’s bed is comfortable. Hard and soft in all the right places and he can almost hear his back give a sigh of relief.
“It’s strange, huh?” Scotty says and Kevin smiles.

“Yes, it is…. I mean, before, it was something that just 'happened' and now its…”
“Strange?”
“I think we’ve established by now.” Kevin replies and they both start to laugh.
“Can I hold you?” Scotty asks.

“I’d like that.” Scotty turns to his side and wraps an arm around Kevin. Kevin moves closer as well. Face to face they just take time to look at each other. Kevin reaches up and caresses Scotty’s face. Scotty closes his eyes and he enjoys the soft touch, that follows the line of his neck and slide over his shoulder to his elbow.

He doesn’t dare to open his eyes, afraid Kevin will stop if he does. Then he feels the soft brush of lips against his own. It’s a tentative gesture and Scotty clenches his fist to not make any sudden movements. Kevin lets his hand rest in Scotty’s hair, not using any more force than a kiss that slowly grows more demanding.

Scotty moans, he turns on his back again and takes Kevin with him, until he can feel Kevin on top of him, spreading Scotty’s legs, letting his hands rest on Scotty’s hips. Kevin breaks the kiss just long enough to look at Scotty.
“You’re so good.” He whispers.

“Take your time.” Scotty replies not looking away from Kevin. “I can wait. You decide when you’re ready….” He swallows hard, when Kevin’s hands move between them, finding the object he’s looking for. Scotty bites his lip to control himself but his heart-felt “Oh… f-fuck!” escapes him nonetheless. He can hear Kevin’s soft laughter.

“I think, I am ready.” Kevin says. “I don’t see why I should wait. My father, the inheritance, my family… They can wait, but I can’t. I’ve waited too long as it is, for a bit of happiness. I don’t want to waste another minute.” He lowers his head and kisses Scotty again and this time Scotty doesn’t hold back anymore either.

Scotty moans a bit and opens his eyes as well.
“Hey, sleepyhead.” Kevin smiles. Scotty looks back at him.
“I want to wake up like this every morning, with you in my arms.”
“I don’t mind waking up your arms either.” Kevin replies, giving Scotty a quick kiss.

“I didn’t want to wake up at all, …was just thinking about last night, before we went to sleep… thought it was just a dream” Scotty confesses with a grin and Kevin laughs as well.
“That ‘no sex’ part of our agreement didn’t last long, did it?.”
“But it was what you wanted?” Scotty asks, just to be sure.

“It was amazing, wanted and enjoyed.” Kevin admits, still wearing a big smile on his face. “I guess, because you told me I didn’t have to, that it somehow become more about my wanting to. It’s all so confusing. I have every reason to be very happy and at the same time I feel like I shouldn’t be.

Like I should feel sadness, because my father died, but I’m not sad. I should be happy that I inherited so much, but I don’t really care. I should be honored that he considered me, but I wish he hadn’t… At the same time, I think that maybe having sex with you shouldn’t be my first priority, but… it’s all I really want to do…. Am I very unconsidered or disrespectful?”

Scotty considers his answer carefully.
“I don’t know. To people who may not know you that good, you might come across as disrespectful in view of your father’s death, but are those people’s opinions really the ones, that should keep you awake at night, because you worry about it?”

“Probably not.” Kevin says thoughtfully. “But wouldn’t my reaction also affect the way others look at you? Not just in this, but also in other things.”
“Don’t worry.” Scotty laughs, charmed by Kevin’s concern for his reputation. “If I would have considered your reactions inappropriate, I would have told you so.

But I think you handled yourself very well. You didn’t make a scene at the funeral or at your father’s coffin. You’ve taken all the trouble around Jason and me with grace and you showed insight about the repercussions of inheriting everything else that your family didn’t get. You did a good job under the circumstances.”

“Really?” Kevin asks, still not convinced.
“Really.” Scotty replies, pulling Kevin closer for another kiss. “Now how about some breakfast and we’ll take a long look at what your father left you.”
“Can’t we stay in bed just a little longer?” Kevin suggests and Scotty doesn’t have to think long about the answer.

THREE DAYS LATER
*****

“Hey! Merry Christmas!” Scotty says cheerfully and Wally looks up from the paperwork on his desk.
“What are you so ‘merry’ about? And why are you here now? Dinner will only be in 4 hours… And since you only come here for the, by the way - excellent, food…..”

Wally sounds grumpy, but Scotty knows his father well enough to know it’s an act.
“Gee! Mom must be so happy with you today…”
“She got diamond earrings for Christmas. She should be happy…. So, what’s going on?”

Scotty sits down and shows his father Kevin's papers.
“The will of William Walker, Kevin’s father… I read it word for word, top to bottom, upside down and backwards. I almost have it memorized and … still I can’t find out what the catch is.”

“Is there supposed to be one?”
“Kevin and I think so. It’s a known fact that William hated Kevin, but loved his oldest three kids. Like Kevin, I can’t imagine that William Walker would have purposely cut them out of his will.

There has to be something, that will allow Sarah and Tommy to yank control away from Kevin again. They just don’t know it yet. And I want to make sure that we can anticipate their actions. It’s just… if there is a some safety-clause for them, I can’t find it and neither can Kevin….”

“You want to me have a look as well?”
“Yes, please. Kevin is carefully adjusting to the thought that maybe he’s suddenly the owner of a company, money, land and who knows what else… I don’t want him to get hurt. Not again. Not by any of them.”

“You really love him, don’t you?” Wally asks.
“Crazy about him...” Scotty smiles.
“Good. I’ll have a look at it. And if that doesn’t help, I’ll have our legal team look at it.”
“Thanks, dad, that would be great.”

“Meanwhile, I expect the two of you at dinner here tonight?”
“Kevin is invited as well?” Scotty asks.’
“Well, of course… If he will be my son-in-law, I want to get to know him.”
“Son-in-law? Aren’t you going a little too fast? We’re nowhere near.”

“That can change in no time. I knew your mom was the love of my life the moment I saw her, and I proposed to her a week later, that was 35 years ago and not one day of regret.” Wally’s love for Bertha is so obvious in his voice that Scotty feels choked up. He never doubted the love his parents felt for each other, but it was still sweet to hear Wally say those words.

“I fell for Kevin the day I met him.” Scotty answers softly. “So, who knows what the future will bring? I can only hope that there will be no regrets for me either.” Wally gets up and squeezes his son’s shoulder.
“I can only hope the same. It’s good to look back on your life and know that you made the right decision years ago.”
