Kevin blinks. It's dark in the room. It's disorientating to wake up in yet another bed in yet another bedroom. Then he considers that he's waking up in Scotty's bed in Scotty's bedroom and a wave of warm memories go through him. Taking it slow! How could he think that that could even exist between them?
From the moment they had their first kiss, Kevin had known that he just had to end up here, in Scotty's arms, with Scotty's warm breath on his skin, his body still tingling from how he and Scotty had made love. He sighs, it had been amazing. Scotty had touched him, caressed him, kissed him... Kevin closes his eyes, remembering how it all felt.
When had he last felt such a thing? He couldn't remember that far back. His ex hadn't been an attentive lover for quite some time, sex between them had been more of a routine thing and, to be honest, Kevin was usually glad when it was over because he had felt more like a chore on his ex's to-do-list than a lover.
But Scotty had blown just about every fuse in Kevin's body and even some Kevin never knew he had. Years of being told to 'be more quiet' in bed had fallen away as he had offered his throat to Scotty's kisses, moaning at the warm trail that Scotty's kisses left there. Then there had been that warm mouth on his belly.
He had cried out Scotty's name, his fingers in Scotty's hair as he gently pushed Scotty's head further down. Scotty was an excellent lover, that's for sure. Kevin used to be a good lover too in his younger years, before he got married. He had had quite a lot of lovers.
Some good, some bad, for some he had been the teacher, with certain he had been the pupil. That lover had been put to sleep due to non-interest, pretty much like the rest of his life. And now that lover had come back to life and Kevin didn't want him to go back in his shell.
Scotty had been so sweet, so gentle. Kevin was sure that he would take him over the edge once again and with so much ease. Then Scotty had rolled away from Kevin, naked, breathing loudly and clearly trying to calm himself down.
"What's wrong?" Kevin just had to know that he hadn't made a mistake.
"Give me a few seconds. I'm too close. You are so hot. Just looking at you i want to roll you over, grab your ass and just...." Scotty shuts up, seemingly shocked at his own words and his own need. Kevin wonders if perhaps Scotty had merely thought this way, but not actually meant to say something.
Though a little blush spreads over Scotty's face, he doesn't apologize. Quite to the contrary. The lust in his eyes makes Kevin's head spin.
"I know I shouldn't have said that out loud, but, seriously, I see you and I just want to take you."
"So, what's stopping you? Got protection? Lube?" Scotty seems shocked that Kevin is not insulted.
"Kev, I've never gone that far with anyone before... I mean, of course, I have, just not this fast... I don't want you to get the wrong idea."
"I appreciate your concern. I really do, but I'm not some inexperienced 16-year old. I'm not made out of fine porcelain. I'm 46 years old and in my younger years I've slept with more men than I care to remember. I know what you want." Adding action to his words his hand slides along Scotty's arousal in no uncertain terms. This makes Scotty hiss at the touch.
"I want this too." Kevin says.
"You're sure?"
"Yes." Kevin replies, somehow knowing that the lube and condoms wouldn't be too far away. Indeed, Scotty takes them out of a drawer, but then hesitates again.
Their eyes meet and Kevin smiles again.
"I'm sure." He emphasizes. The enchanting smile that comes to Scotty face makes Kevin laugh with joy. This time he's not a chore on a to-do list. He's wanted. Scotty really wants to make love to him.
He wants to roll over to his belly, but Scotty stops him.
"I want to see your face. I want you to see mine. I want you to know how much I want this and I want you to see how much you turn me on." Kevin nods at Scotty's word, unable to say another word. This is it.
Scotty prepares him and it's clear from the first touch that he knows what he's doing. The first moment of penetration is awkward on both of them, but the moment subsides and when Scotty carefully starts to thrust, Kevin forgets everything around him. He reaches up to Scotty.
Earlier on he had been worried about sounding too desperate. Now he's begging Scotty not to stop, to just do it, to go for it, he couldn't care less. He just wants to feel Scotty deep inside. He wants Scotty take charge and just ... take him. Scotty surrenders to his own needs and Kevin's, taking both of them over the edge.

When Scotty wakes up, the first thing he sees is the broad smile on Kevin's face. Kevin is still asleep, but he guesses that it won't take long before Kevin is going to wake up. He lets the back of his finger slide along Kevin's cheek. Kevin's eyes open.
"Good morning." He says in a hoarse voice.
"Hey. Hungry?"
"For what?"
"Give me break." Scotty laughs. "I need some solid food in me before I can make love to you again."
"Oh, so it is your plan to make love to me again?"
"High on my list." Scotty kisses him. "That. And see if I can think of something to give you as a Christmas-gift. Because we need gifts under the tree."
"But I wouldn't have anything to give you." Kevin protests.
"I think that last night you already gave a nice gift, that I got to unwrap and enjoy even before Christmas-eve." Kevin smiles shyly. "But now, let's get some breakfast." Scotty decides, shoving aside the duvet and giving a Kevin a full view of his naked body. Kevin doesn't say anything, just bites his lower lip. Man, beautiful ass indeed!

Back in his room Kevin opens up his suitcases and after some digging he finds the presents he had bought for his family. He takes out the ones for Justin and Tommy and opens them up. He had bought them both a beautiful sweater, a size bigger than he usually would.
He puts them on the bed, side by side, and then decides that blue-grey one he had bought for Justin would look best on Scotty. Now all he needs is some wrapping paper and tape. As he puts the sweater that he had originally bought for Tommy back in his suit-case he realizes that he has no idea how his family is doing.
It's Christmas-eve tonight. Usually the family would gather at his mother's house, where they could sleep in their old rooms if they got too drunk to drive home. His mother would flood the table with food, wine and gifts. Though the memory is a happy one, he has no real desire to be with his family now.
"Kevin! Breakfast is ready!"
"I'll be there in a couple of seconds!" Kevin quickly goes down the stairs and upon entering the kitchen he's aware that he too is quite hungry. The freshly brewed coffee smells delicious.
"Coffee! I didn't know how much I needed it." Kevin laughs.
"The storm has died down, there will be quiet some snow to shovel. I will need to clear a path so we can access the main road. If you want you can use my phone to call your family. Communication can be spotty when the weather is bad, but it should work now."
"Thanks. But I already texted them. My brother Justin anyway. He replied that i should take care of myself and that he was glad I'm alright and that I shouldn't worry about them. They're fine. Guess they don't really miss me."
"Sorry."
"Don't be. I didn't mean that in a nasty way. They know I'm okay. We're good. And I'd rather be here anyway." Kevin adds with a little smirk. Scotty gives him a quick kiss in reply. "Oh. Do you have some wrapping paper and some tape? I just noticed that in my haste I was rather careless with gifts I had bought and the paper got torn."

Roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, some salad, bread, cheese. Dessert will be ice-cream. There's wine. Not exactly a 5-star meal in 5-star hotel, but Scotty feels that it will have to do as a Christmas-dinner. He has seen the Christmas-gift that has popped up under the tree next to his own. He's curious what it is.
Kevin and he have decided to unwrap their gifts tonight and that they would sleep in tomorrow. Scotty puts the forks in place as he lets the realization sink in that Kevin will sleep with him again tonight. Butterflies rise up his chest. He tells himself to calm down, it's only a short romance thing, nothing serious.
"Need any help?" Kevin asks. Scotty shakes his head.
"Got in touch with your family?"
"Yeah. They're getting ready for a posh dinner."
"Sorry that this will not be the 5-star meal you expected." Scotty apologizes.
"Are you crazy? I'd rather eat a tuna-sandwich with you than caviar with them... I'm good." Kevin is all smiles and Scotty believes him. He looks too happy to be lying.
"Anyhow, dinner is ready."
"Can we also get the gifts?"
"You're such a little kid." Scotty laughs. Then remembering what a jerk Kevin's ex was to him, he adds" "Go for it! I'm curious too." He proceeds to serve the food. Kevin places his gift next to Scotty, while he puts Scotty's gift next to himself. "Aren't you going to unpack it?"
"No. The chicken smells heavenly, I'm hungry and I want to eat first. I don't want to let it get cold."
"Then why did you want to get the gifts?"
"Because it's more exciting when they're next to you, rather than under the tree, duh-huh."
Scotty brings his hands up and rubs his face, trying to stay serious.
"Of course it is. Silly of me to ask." When he looks at Kevin he sees nothing but mischief in Kevin's blue eyes. It's so charming.
"Scotty, this is delicious!"
"Thank you."
"Ever considered becoming a cook?"
"Nah, too much work. Besides I enjoy cooking, it relaxes me. I think if I'd had to do this every day as my job, it would become something of a routine and I would not enjoy it anymore."
"Good point." Kevin agrees. Maybe that was his problem as well. There had been a time when he had enjoyed his work. Dotting the i's. Crossing the t's. Search for errors. Help people. He had however moved to the darker side of the law. Lately he felt he was putting too much time and effort in helping rich, big companies get even bigger and richer.
He clears his mind of all negatives thoughts. He wants to enjoy this night with Scotty. The radio-station is back to playing Christmas-songs, but Kevin and Scotty have too much to talk about to listen to the radio. Their conversation goes from childhood, to work, to friends, to politics, to food, to sport until Scotty leans back.
"I want to unpack my gift." He states.
"I hope you will like it. I had to improvise by switching some Christmas gifts. Have to get one of my brothers another one. But that doesn't mean that the gift is any less sincere." Kevin apologizes. Scotty puts his hand on Kevin's to reassure him.
"It will be great, I'm sure. I hadn't expected to get anything, so this is nice." Scotty carefully tears away the gift-paper.
"Oh, wow. This is gorgeous!" True, the blue-grey sweater is beautiful, soft and would undoubtedly look amazing on him.He also knows what shop this came from and he knows their sweaters are expensive.
"Are you sure you want to give this to me? ..." Scotty asks and he holds it in front of him.
"Yes. I do. Unless you don't like it?"
"I love it...." Scotty is clearly flabbergasted by the gift. "But now, in all honesty, my gift is a bit silly in comparison...."
"Now who's feeling self-conscious about their gift?" Kevin gently teases as he picks up the gift from Scotty and starts to unwrap it. It's a small, elongated box made out of wood. Kevin opens it, but it has no content.
"I made this myself last year."
"You made this? Yourself? Carved it out or something?"
"Carved it out and varnished it." Scotty explains softly.
"It didn't turn out how I wanted it to be, not for me anyway, but I could never bring myself to throw it away either. It's a beautiful box, I just had no purpose for it. But when I was looking for a gift for you I thought maybe you can keep it in your office as a wooden pencil case or something like that?"
"Scotty, I love this. It's beautiful." Kevin is clearly in awe and Scotty smiles nervously. Kevin gets up, walks to the other side of the table to kiss Scotty.
"Thank you. I love your gift." He says between two kisses.
"And I love yours." Scotty pulls Kevin closer and then down on his lap.

Text-message 1 of 3
"Hi, Kev, hotel Sunny Meadows is now mine. Deal was done 2 days ago. I hope that it's still a nice place to be and that you're enjoying yourself there. Love ya." From Chad.
Text-message 2 of 3
"Dinner was nice. New hotel not that good. Lacks ambience. Feels drafty. Preferred Sunny Meadows. Hope you have fun." From Nora.
Text-message 3 of 3
"Kevin, that was a highly unexpected letter. Board not happy. Shall comply with your request, however we feel that this was not very professional!" From Browne Carter. Partner in Carter and Dupray, the law-company Kevin works for.
*****
Kevin however doesn't get any of these 3 message tonight. He's in Scotty's arms, in a nice warm bed in Scotty's bedroom. Far away from the cold and empty Hotel Sunny Meadows. Not having to deal with a feeling of a draft in a new hotel. And unaware of mr Carter's reaction. And if he had been aware of that last one, he probably couldn't have cared less.
