okay so in the song Ghetto Superstar, the rapper DEFFINATELY says "make you do a pas de bouree/make you do ballet..." OMG. Ballet in RAP music?!?! i think today is starting to get better

Even though a performer's identity is, ostensibly, a subservient role, existing for the amusement of others, I like to view it on a much larger level. A performer, or any other artist, has the ability to change the world. Through the medium of art, lives and emotions and souls can be touched in a way unlike any other. A truly great song or painting or poem or performance can reach down into the inner caverns of a person's essence, and it can speak truth to that person in a world too convoluted for truth.

To take that step, to actively choose to become a performer, is something praise-worthy.

I think that's how that line goes. I had no idea you had not come to terms with your true self, dear. I knew it the first time I met you.. you are a born-performer. Much better than I could ever hope to be. ;)

I recall that poem depressing me a LOT!! when I once read it in an English class. ya know Mare, you make a good point, giving ones heart away fast is quite dangerous, i would know. but, building walls are just as bad. i find, not that someone of my level of insanity is correct in giving advice, i find, that the best way to be with someone, is not to think about giving anything away or building any walls. just don't think so much. the only good relationship's i've ever had have come along when i'm busy with schoolwork, a show, or even simply my friends or a book i'm busy reading or a band i'm busy being obsessed with. this is a long comment. wow, i really miss you. i love you.
