i've applied for at least 5 jobs in the past two days that i would LOVE to have, and a few more that i wouldn't mind. but what's the deal with people not calling me ever? is my resume that terrible? the funny part is, i'm pretty sure they'd love me as an employee if they gave me a chance. i've got a decent work ethic...work quickly, get there ( Read more... )

yeah, i have the same problem. the 2 times i've gotten interviews i got the job, but i turned in tons of applications before i finally got an interview. perhaps have someone else go over your resume to make it look better? the job market in rochester sucks, you might have to lower your standards to pay the bills.

yeah, the only thing is, my standards are pretty low. i'm just not looking at minimum wage jobs because minimum wage isn't enough to pay the bills for me. :o(

Maren you should start an eBay business! People make tons of money that way, and your stuff is pretty cool... It would work!

Perhaps it is not you. Perhaps it is just because work in Western New York is so hard to come by. I know this all to well. I like you am Originally from Youngstown. I know that it is all to hard to get a job in the area. I have a friend that just moved from Rochester to Virginia because landing a job in the region is so hard.

As soon as I am done with university I too am going to leave the area.

Unfortunately though, I still live here. I know that it is all to hard to get a job in the area.
