Beautiful stoney321 was in the 'ham last night so I got to hang out with her and the kiddos. Her kids are smart and hilarious and sweet-- no wonder, since they came from the loins of Stoney

Heh. I finally netflixed season one, and the DVDs arrived today. Guess I wanted to see for myself what it seems like everyone's talking about, though I don't have high expectations.
I mock True Blood (the series) every chance I get, but, I have to say, Eric has grown on me. I like him much, much, MUCH better than Bill. I think there is a small chance they will go with Eric/Sookie, especially if they hope to go on with the show for many more seasons. I'd actually tune in for that relationship because Bill/Sookie bores me to death.
True Blood is mock-worthy, I'm not going to protest that. It's still the only thing I've reliably tuned into over the past year of television. That probably says a lot about me :)
Better? I actually think the first season did get better as it went on. This season started stronger and has gone down hill, but it should get better again.
The books really appeal to me. I just really like book-Sookie.
i'll leave it at he bottom of my netflix queue then...
i do like the books, have done for a decade or more but wow, premium cable shows need for gratitous f bombs annoys the fucking hell out of me ironically enough
"I had to share my pessimistic prediction that the show will not be faithful to the books when it comes to Eric and Sookie, because they've set up Bill and Sookie as the love story ..."
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Oh, great! I'm finally in tune with a vampire/human love story and it's non-canon... :-(
But, you know, I do love Eric more than Bill. Of course it's because of the actor, whom I adored on Generation Kill, and because I love the idea of the 1,000 year old man. (Can Mel Brooks hear me? Because HE was the 2,000 year old man...)
