Vampire Diaries-- you watch? What do you think?

ETA: Why am I not getting LJ notices in my yahoo account anymore? Was there some account setting thing that happened during my long absence that I need to fix?

I keep being told that I need to watch it - it's cracktastic and yet really good, namely Ian Sommerheldererer.

I've seen about half the season (up to Halloween episode) and the more I watch it, the more I'm liking it.

Ian Sommerheldererererer is hot in it, and cheesily dramatic, but in a knowing sort of way that makes him watchable to me. I always wonder what the real actors think of his performance.

I haven't seen it, but I keep meaning to catch up. Maybe I'll do that over the holidays.

I know there were a lot of issues with people getting notifications last week. That may still be going on.

Maybe that's it-- I checked my yahoo settings and everything seems fine there.

The first episode was pretty bad. Actually it is really cliched but I've started enjoying it as fluff that is not as bad as Twilight but not near as good as Buffy or True Blood (which I like a lot, even though I know some people hate it for good reason).

The thing I'm stuck on is the fact that Stefan is dating Elena because she looks like someone else. That's the whole basis for his stalking which is NOT romantic and extremely questionable. Hmm, liking a girl based purely on her looks- how average of you VD.

I tried the first episode and was similarly unimpressed. I haven't really had much time to give it a second chance. I liked Ian whatshisface on Lost so I probably should give it another shot.

I have finally gotten around to watching True Blood, and I have to say, that's some seriously cracktastic television right there. I'm only about halfway through the first season, but I'm really enjoying it.

True Blood is very cracktastic and that never changes. I like the books better, but the tv entertains me very much.

The first episode was terrible, particularly the pet fog bank/crow. However, the second episode was better, and the show is really hitting its stride. I like it.

I agree with this assessment I think. I have about 6 eps to catch up on though- it's good to hear it keeps going up.

I was just finally relieved to see a girl have a reasonable reaction to finding out a guy is a vampire-- there was at least one episode where she didn't want to date him!

Yeah, Elena makes an amount of sense, and I love her aunt Jenna. I actually like all of the cast.
