What did you think of this one? I was a little underwhelmed, though I also laughed and laughed at her for giving Alan Ball the middle finger with the Eric backstory. Hahahaha.
I lol'd at the, NO THIS IS HIS MAKER, bit. Yeah, she seems to be caught up in a lot of hullabaloo and not the actual LEAD CHARACTER and HER LIFE, which I'm wishing she would get back to. Also: MORE PAM, PLEASE.
I'm positive she's going to end up with Sam in the end, and Eric will either be dead or somewhere else as a King, with the bond killed with the help of Amelia.
i'm not sure how many are left in the Sookie series. I need to get the latest from the library (and check to see if I even read the one from last year)
They are different-- the books are better in my opinion, and I say that as someone who fell in love with the show first, and then went to the books.
If you watch True Blood for Sookie, you'll like the books. She's a much better character in the books IMO. If you watch for Tara or Jason, you'll be dismayed to find that Tara is a tiny bit character and Jason isn't usually a huge character, though he does pop up with some minimal frequency.
I got the feeling that this book was a transition -- it seemed to be nothing really important, just a setup for what's coming. I did enjoy the little cousin, and I'll miss Amelia.
I wouldn't mind Sookie ending up with Sam. He's always been a favorite of mine.
I read the books from the beginning, so I have really mixed feelings about True Blood. I like that some of the minor characters in the books are more prominent in the series, but I really hate the portrayal of Sookie.
I don't think Harris has said how many books she plans for the series.
I think because I liked the show first, I can stand Sookie because in my mind she's only better in the books (so the comparison I made was a positive one, not a negative, if that makes sense).
I won't mind if she hooks up with Sam. I love Eric in the books, but I never saw it as lasting. Sookie is just not the person she'd have to be for that relationship to go anywhere further than it has.

And I think she's going for 12?

I've never read the novels, but I watch True Blood. Is it worth it to start reading the books? I've heard they're very different from the series.
