Yessir...first off, has anyone ever read the book The Road Less Traveled?  Good book, I recommend it to anyone.

Anyways, had a dream last night.  I was standing in a McDonald's line with my friend Casey and another friend.  The thing was, the menu looked unfamiliar to me--I couldn't even read the descriptions or see the pictures clearly.  My ( Read more... )

But what if you can't see the choices? How can a person make a responsible decision when they don't know what options are available? I agree that it can be a bad thing to spend time metaphorically dithering over whether you should get a #5 or whether you should custom-tailor your order so that you get the same thing only one less chicken finger than #5 has because #5 seems like just a bit too much. But surely it's important to take the time to figure out that there are chicken fingers on the menu!

...Also, I'm told a majority of the population cannot read in their dreams. Just throwing that out there ;)

If they can't see their choices? That's when they really have to be careful about where they get their information from, to be short and unintentionally curt. That's why I repeat, it's best to get as much accurate information as possible so that you do know all of your choices and that you can make the best decision. Not being able to read the menu was then, perhaps an illustration that the facts aren't always laid out for you effortlessly.

We can go on a tangent about not trusting everything you see/hear from everyone and blah blah blah, but that would remind me too much of Dale from King of the Hill or Agent Moulder from the X-Files.

I'm sure I'll come up with a more thorough answer later.
