They're absolutely lovely and I can't wait to read the story now =) You've clearly put a lot of work into these and thank you so much for participating; good luck with all the wonderful feedback I'm sure you'll get ♥

Thank you! Haha, I'm usually too lazy for full backgrounds, but I figured if not the big bang, then when?

They look great!
You said you were worried about the shadows on the Christmas tree, but honestly it looks fine and the little lights are really cute. I think the fact that you even bothered to have them reflected a little on the ball ornaments makes you Very Thoughtful About Details Indeed.

And I think the cropped version of the 2nd picture looks even more 3D/has more depth than the fullsize, for some reason. Maybe because it's more zoomed-in? Idk. Is it weird to say that I really like Gwen's collar bones in that one? Because I doooooooooo.

Thank you! <3 <3 <3

I hadn't noticed, but if I had to guess I'd say the cropped version looks more three dimensional because the table and benches are more prominent, and they've got the most longest lines of regression in the picture? IDK, really, I'm just guessing here.

Thank you very much! The backgrounds are actually not that difficult to draw, since there's a lot of straight-line construction. They're just kind of slow and fiddly to set up. I've been looking at perspective tutorials over the past month or so, and by far the hardest part had just been maintaining the attention span to read them!
