Yay! It came out really nice. I think the pale colors definitely work. And the matching tones with the crabs and the figure work really nicely, in contrast with the BG colors--it links them together which is def. what I think it needed (their little red eyes are creeping me out though, oh god crabs are so creepy).

And the daylight moon looks really good. It adds a lot and I think you placed it very well.

I didn't mention it before, but I really do like the composition of the image. I am shit at composition. Did you spend time on that part of it or do you just have some sort of natural magical talent? The flow is really nice.

Overall, it reminds me a lot of a tarot card, but in a good way.

Thanks! I really appreciate your advice about the colors and the fabulous daylight moon idea. <3

Regarding the composition, I was conscious that it was working as I was drawing it, but I didn't think it out beforehand. I think the sections of the BG cut it in thirds, which I'm told are appealing to the eye, and then the vertical figure balances the horizontal and maybe the curve of it creates some interest. I did consciously try to place the trees in a way that left open space around Hunith's face, but that's about it as far as Actually Trying goes.

My composition doesn't usually work out this well, unsurprisingly.

Thanks for the tarot card comment! I was kind of thinking of my Rider deck as I drew, so I'm glad that comes across.

Yay, I'm glad you like it, since you're like, the Hunith authority. :P (Did you know that when you search "Hunith" in google image search, one of your drawings appears three times on the first page?) Thanks for commenting!

i love that she seems to be cooing at the cute little crabs; it's such a Hunith thing to do. your lines are so clean and the pale colours work so well with the mood of the piece, and i am in awe with your daylight moon. ♥

Aww, thank you very much! I'm glad you like the moon, since I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out as well.

This is really beautiful! Love the limited palette you used. Only incorporating native fauna and flora to Britain is a great little detail!!
Great job!

Yay, you finished! It looks really good, bb! The moon looks amazing, the fabric of her clothes looks great, and the fact that you "tried to pick flora and fauna native to Britain for the scenery" is impressive and endearing for its batshit attention to detail. I really like the colour palette--reminds me of the some of the illustrations in my primary school readers, which is just about as native to Britain as crack willows (whatever those are...). Also, the crabs! They look so cute!

P.S. you don't want to know how long I spent dicking around on my keyboard to make that crab happen. it'll ruin the magic.

P.P.S. awwwww shit, I just realised you'd know anyway if you get email alerts and you see how many deleted comments I had to go through ;___;

Awww, thank you! Haha, if you think that's batshit attention to detail, you should know I considered drawing other trees but had to trash those options when I discovered they were crossbreeds created after the timeframe of Merlin. Dedication!

:] Aww, I love your little crab and I love all the steps it took you to construct it.
