Here's a very belated update. I'll put it under the cut since it's long and some may not be interested.
We’ve been migrating everything to our new systems so there’s been something new just about every month.
I bought portable AC’s and had to call an electrician to put in some dedicated outlets/wires for them. They had to drill through ceilings/walls and I ended up having an asthma attack.
I moved my head a certain way and had a bout of vertigo then had the worst hemorrhoids. Not only was I in excruciating pain, but they wouldn’t stop bleeding. I had to wear a pad for a few days. During this time I had to have the electrician come out again and have someone from Comcast come out because my modem died while I was working from home.
I also had to bring my watch to get a new battery. Usually I bring it to the jewelers and they fix it in about 5-10 min and charge around $5 -$6. The place I usually go seems to be permanently closed so I took it to another place. I don’t know if it’s cause it’s also a pawn shop but the first time I went there the place was closed. When I came back, he took the watch, gave me a receipt, and said batteries start at $15! The watch I had was a free gift that my mother got so that seems a bit much. I bought another watch from Amazon for $10 so it seems it’s cheaper to buy a new watch. It took him a week to get back to me and then he was closed when I showed up. I had told him when I was coming by. I finally got it and he only charged $5 but I found the whole thing off putting. He was nice and everything but I got a weird, creepy vibe from him.
My mother’s shoulder was bothering her and the dr. said she had a cold/frozen shoulder. I had to take her to physical therapy for over a month. I was so tired from getting up extra early and working long days to make up the time from work.
We had a bat in our house! I have no idea how he got in but he freaked me out. John fought and killed it around 4:00 something in the morning just outside my bedroom door. It was surreal. I still expect to see it when I go downstairs after dark. Apparently, they are an endangered species so you’re not supposed to kill them but too bad!
Last March we had a really bad windstorm and an old window in our attic blew out. Then I came home from work one day and found a note from the DPW saying they needed access to the premises as there was a possible leak. I called the next day and the woman asked if I had a running toilet. We had, it just kept getting pushed down on the list of Things to Take Care of Right Away. So, I had to call a plumber to come out and fix it.
My eye was itchy back in Feb and when I rubbed it, it got red. I left it alone and then it started to swell up! I have no idea what happened. My lip used to swell up randomly so I took some Benadryl (that’s what the dr. said to use) and put some ice on it. The next day is was down, but it really freaked me out. Then, my mom accidently poked herself in the eye and it was all red and swollen. She wouldn’t leave it alone so it couldn’t heal. I put some gauze on it but she said it “came off” the next morning.
My asthma was acting up as well which is really strange since, when I used to get it, it was in the Spring and Fall. Nothing is blooming in the dead of winter. I have a lot of stairs to climb to get out of the T and then a 10 min. walk. I’m on the 5th floor now and I like to take the stairs. When I get to the top, instead of the normal huffing and puffing you’d expect, my upper chest feels tight and I have trouble breathing for a couple of hours. Then it just goes away. It also bothers me at home after I work out. Weirdly, last Wed. night I was having a tough time and had to sit up for a while. It bothered me for most of the day and Thurs. night I used my inhaler. It helped a bit but it also brought on a cough. This weekend was kind of bad but I felt better after mass yesterday. This morning I was coughing when I got into work. I really don’t want to deal with this crap right now (or ever!).
I’m wondering if it might have to do with our mouse problem. They’re working on the train station at the end of my street. Well, as predicted, the mice have come running up the street straight to my house. I had one stuck in my room a couple of months ago and I had to open the door to get him out. Then, the next night he’s chewing on the hall carpet trying to get back in! I put out some poison and it looks like he’s been eating it. We also go those things that you plug in and they’re supposed to emit a sonic wave that pests don’t like. Hopefully it will work. I think I might be having an allergic reaction to the mouse/germs he’s spreading. Sometimes I have a bit of a reaction to animal fur.
I got some weird virus that I couldn’t shake that made me sick as a dog. Meanwhile, the mouse won’t die. He’s eaten at least 4 bags of poison and is still alive and kicking.
My asthma is reoccurring and really annoying me.
That's it for now.
