It appears that I don't have seasonal allergies. I'm fine, even with this green crap all over the place. As long as I keep COMPLETELY away from pepper, I can breathe. Of course this is almost entirely impossible, even with buying just ingredients and cooking every single gram of my own food, but it is getting easier to ask when I go out. Did ( Read more... )

I suffer from year-round allergies (not sure to what, never been tested), but I'd rather have those than be allergic to black pepper!

See, that's the thing - I always THOUGHT it was year 'round allergies, but now that I've almost entirely eliminated pepper, I barely have symptoms.

I DID get tested, and it didn't do me any good, because I'm allergic to alcohol, so I tested as allergic to everything.

That's the funny thing - I have a major food-aversion response to bell pepper, I can't STAND them. But black pepper (and white too, of course) make me sniffly and itchy.

The black pepper thing sucks. Not being able to breath sucks. Much of the time I'd probably agree on the 3 restuarant thing, but... when every inch of me itches, my eyes swell shut and it feels like I'm breathing sand and there is no getting away from it anywhere because the damned green stuff is so invasive, pervasive, ubiquitous... I'd kill to be able to just cook for myself and have normal skin and breathing and not be taking 2 shots a week plus 5 drugs daily and having to manage all the doctor appointments and the changes in pharmaceutical coverage Duke's implemented.

Neither is much fun.
