CHANGE OF VENUE THIS FRIDAY!
I'm going to put the relevant info right up front here:
This coming Friday, February 22nd, Margarita Friday will be relocating to:
Los Bravos Mexican Restaurant
4480 S Cobb Dr Se, Smyrna, GA

The time remains the same: 8pm.
If you are coming from the highway, I strongly recommend you take 2-85 to the Atlanta Rd exit, and turn north. Get in the left lane, and it will become a turn-only when it reaches Cumberland Pkwy just a little way up [if you pan to the east on the above-linked Google map you will be able to see the exit and intersection of which I speak]. Make the left on Cumberland Pkwy, and take that over to the next major intersection at South Cobb Drive. The restaurant is in the Publix shopping center, in the main building, but around the corner from Publix on the side that faces South Cobb Drive. You can access the ctr from either the EW Connector OR South Cobb Drive. If you turn right on S Cobb, you will see a big liquor store up on the hill, and there's an entrance road just past it. If you stay on EW it will take you all the way down to the other end of the shopping ctr before there's an entrance, then when you turn in just double back all the way down to the S Cobb end of things. It is directly behind the Atlanta Bread Company.
I'm well aware that the satisfaction levels with margarita_fri have fallen drastically of late. The noise level of the place has just gotten entirely out of hand, and has made conversation impossible and our evenings less than pleasant. Service has gotten sketchy at best. Attendance has fallen; people who at least used to come periodically no longer come at all. There has been lots of complaining about how much it sucks. [Dissatisfaction is easier than action, so the complaining was never accompanied by suggestions for a new place, I might note. Sorry for the delay.]
Anyway, we checked this place out and the food was decent [Tacos al Carbon, YAY!], and it looks like there's a chance they could handle our group. There were three long table set-ups. The margaritas didn't offend me. Our waiter said they are very busy on Fridays, but it starts slacking off between 8 and 9. So, we're going to try it and see how it works out. He did say they give you free margaritas if you have to wait. ;) THIS IS A NO SMOKING ESTABLISHMENT! Be forewarned. There are two lovely benches flanked by ashtrays and protected by the overhang out front, so for stepping outside it is a considerable improvement over Mexico Lindo.
If this doesn't work out we can always revert back to Mexico Lindo while we scout for another place. Honestly, I'm kind of tired of hearing about how much Margarita Friday sucks, so if you don't like this place do feel free weigh in on it, but a simple yes/no will suffice. Also feel free to volunteer to check out any other options you might be aware of. ;)
