So many gut punches here! This feels like an excellent explanation of why Sharon would become so detached-seeming in later life. And the guilt she must have felt, preferring Andrea's grandmother and that relationship to her own, and then that phone call! And the happiness of her own family makes the next blow that much worse. So sad.

I'd never heard her described as detached, but you're right, that is part of her mature personality.

Oh, wow! So many feels here. I love how you're handling the transition between young!Sharon and canon!Sharon. So sad for them all here.
