I have a wet Sefer Tora in my apartment. This does not make me happy.

There's a safruth store a block or two away. I hope I can convince someone tomorrow to come from the store and take a look at it, to tell me what to do.

Last night, I wanted to work on fixing it up (i.e., repairing some broken or cracked letters). First I cleaned up the table, with cleaning fluid, and wiped it up with a towel. (I didn't realize that drying a plastic surface involves more than just wiping with a towel, that it actually involves waiting for air to dry it.) I then put the Torah scroll on it, but found that it was still damp, so I removed the Torah scroll immediately (within about thirty seconds). I didn't notice that the Torah scroll had gotten dampened in the process. I wiped up the table again, and waited an hour for the table to dry. Then I put the Torah scroll back on the table, and worked on it for a bit ( ... )

Not-particularly-related update: I clearly don't know how to use a drill, either. :-(
