I LOVE the idea of Sam smelling her shampoo every day too. The sense of smell is very powerful and can conjure up so many memories and even feelings. And remember, he recognized the smell of Joe's hand cream. He totally would do this.

Interesting bit about the story they came up with for Andy leaving; I'm not sure I had thought about that. And now poor Sam has to avoid all of them, not that they were all buddies to begin with but still.

What really broke my heart was the reminder about Traci and Jerry and waking up in the mornings. How she too said how hard it was after those first few moments when you remember that they're not just in the next room.

This was sad with Sam smelling her shampoo and waking up thinking she's just in the other room. I remember having that feeling like he would be doing those things after she had to leave (or maybe you had a short sentence or two referring to it).

Andy leaving had to have been rough on everyone especially because she had to just leave and couldn't give details away.

You've always been able to write their connection to each other very well no matter what is going on in your stories. :)
