You should have found some dude with a clipboard and wrangled a spot as an extra. You'd have gotten way more than 50 bucks, just for milling around yourself.

Though, I suppose, you are then pretty much obliged to see the movie (and badger your friends into seeing it) regardless of how bad it turns out to be.
