Chuugakusei Maruyama
The movie was totally different of what I imagined it to be. I always thought Kusanagi played a teacher who helped a lonely/bullied kid...
That movie is crazy and awesome. The main character's fantasies are hilarious. In the first half of the movie, things are rather slow and you wonder where the movie is going, but in the second half things get lively in the craziest way. Kusanagi's role is so cool and he did a great job.
Adding it to the list of my most favourite japanese movies.
Juvenile
It's been a long time since I haven't watched this kind of movies focusing on kids but I rather enjoyed it. It was cute and fun though very predictable. I loved the special effect. I like special effects that are there just to tell the story and not to show off their own greatness. Shingo's character was totally useless though XD
The movie's weakest point is the end. I think it would have been better to explain what happened in a quick flashback scene (especially that it was rather predictable). The last part felt somehow too long and awkward, including the acting.
Konkatsu
I think I've never seen a good review of this drama but I had to check it. My jdrama sixth sense told me it was a "Period Watch" and I was right.
A "Period Watch is a cheesy uncomplicated drama that you marathon when you're stuck to bed because of fucking periods and high on pain medication. Konkatsu is the perfect drama for that. It's uncomplicated and nice and just what you need on that day. Thanks for the help, Konkatsu team.
I love how Nakai was basically acting as himself (well, his variety self) in a lot of moments. Ueto Aya is soooo cute and you end up loving ALL the characters with no exception. Special mention for Ito Masaru and Sakurada.
It was rather nostlagic seeing Princess Ueda. I love Princess Ueda (I love all Ueda's avatars but Princess Ueda is my favourite).
I also discovered Wedding Bells. I heard it before of course but it's the first time I pay attention to the lyrics. I prefer the original version to the Puffy cover though. It's stuck in my head right now.
Actually the whole OST felt very familiar to me and I just checked the composer and now I know why. It's the same artist who created the OSTs of Shinsengumi, Hero, Karei naru ichizoku and Star no Koi so of course the style would feel familiar.
Sasaki Fusai no Jingi Naki Tatakai
I found out about the existence of this drama literally the day I downloaded and watched it, aka the last week-end. I never knew Sono mama was a theme song for a Goro drama so I was shocked when I heard it in the end.
SMAP, why do you ALWAYS have things I never knew about?
It's the kind of dramas that would normally make me think "relationships are a pain in the ass" and drop it at the 2nd or 3rd episode. But surprisingly it didn't. The characters are interesting and I just like how complicated they are. I loved Yamamoto Koji's character too.
This drama reminds me of Celery. It's about a man and a woman who have totally different personalities and lifestyles but who still love each other the most and struggle to make their relationship work. It also shows how we can lose who we are when we feel betrayed and scared. The side stories are also moving and I ended up crying a lot
Next on list: Asunaro Hakusho and Brothers. Yeah, I decided to go for Brothers raw because it always stayed in the back of my mind. I want to give Ballad a second chance too. Oh, and aji ichimonme because I have to check it.
