A little review of last season's dramas and first impressions about new season:
Platonic: another good Dots drama. Awesome script, awesome acting, awesome directing. Just like Home Drama and Summer Snow, the premise might make people think it's another tear-jerker drama, but it's anything but that (though the last episode made me sob so hard). Nakayama Miho was so good and her character is fascinating and sometimes scary. The revelations at the end of each episode are always mindfucking. The end was totally unexpected. Well, not exactly but I didn't expect things to go that way.[Spoiler (click to open)]I actually thought Sara would end up murdering Tsuyoshi's character. The scene where she sees the box that contains his heart is so devastating.
Shark 2: I checked the first episode with no real conviction because it had 3 Johnny's West members and I ended up marathoning the first season in 2 days. It was probably a mistake because I got attached too much to the Shark band and thus couldn't root for Cloud5 at 100%. I liked the freshness and passion of the first season much more than the angst and complicated situations of the second one. But the second season is still ok and I liked the end. The Johnny's boys did a good job.
Maho Danshi Cherrys: First ABC-Z drama. I like the characters especially Kawai's lol. But somehow the episodes are too...short. And I already know that the drama will end while I'm still wanting more. I'm rather familiar with the 20 minutes/episode format, but in this particular drama I feel it's not enough to build the stories and the characters. Well, let's hope for a second season?
HERO 2: It's really impressive how they kept the atmosphere of the first drama, 13 years later, without making it look strange at all. Kuryu Kohei is Kuryu Kohei. The script is good. The supporting characters are fun. Kimura is hot. Kitagawa Keiko is pretty. What can you expect more of a drama?
Kindaichi Neo: The good surprise of the season. I enjoyed the first episode sooooo much. I was rather sceptical about the script after seeing the SP with Yamada but the first case was really interesting. I hope they will keep the same level with the next episodes. Of course, there's an obligatory comparison to the old editions. I still have to see more of Yamada and Kawaguchi Haruna to say if they live up to Dots and Tomosaka Rie but I can already tell Yamada is trying to stick to the Dots-version of Kindaichi to the letter (it's as he was playing Dots in Kindaichi's role rather than Kindaichi himself :D). To be continued...
Again! : can't tell so far whether I like the drama, but I'm definitely curious about it enough to check more episodes. Fujii Ryusei seems better at playing silly loser roles than cool roles lol. But I'm more interested in the girls' characters: the cheerleading captain looks so cool, and the other girl who died with Ryusei's character seems like she has issues to solve too (something about her obsession with her boyfriend looks so wrong). Somehow I'm always attracted to the "go back to the past and restart your life" kind of drama.
I also checked the first episode of Suikyuu Yankees and it didn't look like something I would follow. I wonder if I should check the one with Kazapon. The preview and the plot don't look appealing to me but who knows.

THREE DAYS TO SMAP27
I started calling it SMAP27 since the first time I heard about the news and then I was surprised when I saw the logo and it actually read "smap 27" lmfao. The Televiman CM is the coolest thing ever. I just can't wait for the 26th...I voted on the website for Celory, Mae ni and Cry for the Smile, but seriously, I'd be happy with any other song lol.
