It's been...three days! wow, why did it feel like an eternity?
As much as I avoided watching that live talk again, I've been looping the scene where they showed when the members were heading to the studio. It's bugging me and at the same time I feel strangely reassured when I watch it.
Because in that footage, Nakai had his usual cool work face, and Kimura said "Whoa" when he saw the set and looked pissed off. It's so reassuring to see them acting like themselves.
Now let's be positive:
- No one really bought that circus. Despite that ridiculous attempt on mezamashi, the fans, general public and even foreign media aren't convinced it was the right outcome and everyone are calling the live broadcast weird, unnatural, uncomfortable and unjustified. Even if they couldn't speak out openly, the Johnny's guys who commented on the matter didn't support the lies and didn't try to hide their discomfort (Taichi, I LOVE YOU)
- The group is still getting huge support, no one thinks they are the "bad" side. A lot of celebrities are speaking out in their favour. No one is blaming them.
- Everyone was reminded how important the group is to the entertainment business and to Japan, it will be very hard to blacklist them if they decide to leave for good (I'm expecting that's what will happen in september)
- J&A is getting criticized and called a black company with shady methods, more and more boldly
- Fandom is not falling for Mary's plots to create division. Sorry, but we're too busy coming up with fanfiction theories about Time Leap <3
- The lies are being exposed progressively: Downtown Matsumoto denied the rumour about his advice, NHK denied the rumour about Kouhaku, Sanspo confirmed the members were given a script, it became known that the agency (Mary) was the one who leaked the disbandment rumour when the negociations were still going on, etc.
The battle starts from here. It will be long and hard but I'm sure SMAP will win in the end, because they hate to lose. I have absolute trust in them.
