So, the Birthday went pretty well. Thank you to everyone who sent messages, emails, thingies on Facebook, cards, drinks, gifts etc, it all helped enormously. Celebrations were in the plural - Tuesday saw HRH join us for gossip and seriously delicious Metroland Italian food. Wednesday may have been quieter than usual, but we necked as much booze as ever and broke the same number of people. So I doubt it's an age thing, dear.

Shall we go out some time this week and prove it?

I suppose we did, it all seemed infinitely more refined than usual. Still, the proverbial good time was had by all.

I gather that you're spoken for this weekend, so it looks like Thursday's the only free day (I've been off for two days with a dodgy tum, thanks to Bernard Matthews, so I'm not going out tomorrow).

I shall represent the shared brain at Gill's farewell drinkie.

Not that Michael Moore - I'm quite relieved really as I think a socio-political lecture over the tuna tartare would have quite put me off.

Thank you! I'm sure I'll get the chance to bore you about it over lunch sometime soon.

The restaurant really is lovely. Excellent service, so discreet, and the food is just heavenly. I'd go back and eat their belly pork for years to come if I could.
