Today I got my new Dell Computer at work-with Vista and Office 2007, neither of which I wanted.   I defintely hate the Office 2007 since it seems to have obliterated all the thumbnails of every picture I have and put a generic landscape cartoon in place of them.  I also hate that all my favorites got rearranged alphabetically and some of the

margroks this is why I haven't replaced this laptop yet. I don't want Vista, I don't need office 2007.

I just don't want anything 'improved', I just want what I have, only better.

you can get new laptops with XP still in them if you custom-order one, but they charge you a fee, lol!

If i get into med school I get a brand-new Dell and I'm kinda dreading having to learn how to navigate Vista and Office 2007. I use it at my volunteer job sometimes and it's annoying.

also, I'm thinking, Marg, that you will have to delete and re-upload your icon. It has been a cassette tape for months so I don't think it will switch back on its own.

The guys in our tech dept. made Vista look as much like XP as they could but some things are annoying, like the thumbnail thing.

Thanks for mentioning the icon problem. It's so odd because after it happened the first time, I could see the weird tape thingy but some people still saw the pic of my cat and in about an hour several people said the icon had returned to normal. I was told it was a glitch in LJ and would often return to normal on its own. I had no idea that stupid tape icon was still visible to some. That is so weird because I see Pyewacket cat now and not the tape. I'll see what I can do about that.
