Uncharacteristically Political of Me

If Tina Fey is a Goddess, and Sarah Palin her evil twin, it is clear that Sarah Palin is the Antichrist. And she's all up in the library world as well ( Read more... )

I guess I'm confused - who tries to ban a dictionary??

Also, Judy Blume? Really? And Roald Dahl? I'm just confused. The J.K. Rowling ban doesn't surprise me because WITCHES AND WITCHES ARE EVIIIL, but some of the others left me scratching my head.

Haha, the only ban I agree with is "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" cause that shit is scarring. I will never forget some of those terrifying illustrations, because they've been burned in my brain since age 9. (Also, the story of the girl whose head was held onto her neck by her ribbon choker is scary shit.)

Despite the fact this list is an untrue one...

Would Judy Blume really surprise you? she's all about teenagers and their sensual urges. Roald Dahl confuses me too but not that selection (though the Witches doesn't really put witches in a positive light haha)

The only saving grace of the Scary STories books was that they published funny ones at the end. But I still can't look in a mirror in the dark because of that stupid Bloody Mary story. lol

I can't believe how gullible I am. Ugh.

I mean, the list is still hilarious. Made me giggle even when I did think that the article was true. She is still creepy.

but that article doesnt say anything like the quote above it....

i'm not saying im on the palin bandwagon, and really i know shes a very conservative lady so i wouldnt be suprised if it were true, but i think people are slinging so much mud in both directions lately no one can see the lay of the land any more.

its an interesting article though. I know very little about her political history.

I can tell it's not right - Goblet of Fire was published afterwards, at very least.

On the other hand, I'd ~love it, in a nasty partisan way, if it got publicized that Sarah Palin hates Harry Potter. That would absolutely make my day.

Totally agree with tartlet on "Scary Stories", though. Brr.

Book banning or not, she wanted to use money to pay for guys to shoot wolves from helicopters.

She's evil.

well, I'm TOTALLY PSYCHED. Because I just checked the Wasilla Library Catalogue and they have multiple copies of ALL my books except the most recent one. See... they only try to ban things they've actually HEARD of.

"I AM INVISIBLE"

hee hee hee

presumably some Wasilla kids are reading my books, or they'd have tossed out their 1993 copy of The Winter Prince by now!

If they had the banning option, you should hope that the kids aren't reading it, what with all that incest and multiracial relations ;-D YAY FOR NO CENSORSHIP!
