Was watching Thunderbirds earlier, and noticed when they have a close up of a hand doing something, it's some dudes hand. Not a puppet or anything attempting to be non-human like, but a hand. And it's quite obvious too when you realise it's there. Also, when they looked at a clock, it was someone's wrist with a watch ( Read more... )

The concept behind Thunderbirds was that they're not meant to be seen as marionettes, Gerry Anderson believed in a higher level of suspension of disbelief.

If you get the chance to see the original Captain Scarlet, you'll know what I mean - the marionettes in that are freakishly lifelike (for the late 60's).

okay, looking at it in that way does make a difference.

and yes, i have seen Captain Scarlet.. it's awesome :)
