because my dad was in the volunteer fire brigade, he had to deal with arsonists and at least one was also a member of the brigade. it may not be a popular view but I don't feel they should be put to death or punished severely. for one thing, they tend to do it out of a sense of power or control and punishing them won't change that need for power and control. I'm used to being someone who thinks differently but I'm not saying this to have people attack my view cause they think it's wrong.

they'll be punished as is deemed fit by the court

tell me what punishment would stop them from committing the crime or stop others from doing the same

i dont think hurting criminals makes anyone feel better, and it's a waste.. if they catch the person they should be made to help rebuild the towns they burned. and go to all the funerals.
