My two cents (or would that be 2 pence?) on the matter?
I think religion itself is not violent, or at least not all of it.
The problem comes down to men. We are the ones that seem that the only way to live is to have everyone agree with our beliefs. We can never accept others beliefs and if they don't match we do all we can to make them change to our beliefs. Now have the disagreement be about religion and instantly talking and arguing becomes violent. I find it truly amazing how almost all religions talk about being peaceful and such and yet people constantly fight and start wars and attack others in the name of religion.
Then again, Christianity was founded on the belief that Jesus was the Jewish Messiah and that has a very bloody past. And then you have all the crusades. I take it back religion is very violent.
But enough social commentary from someone who doesn't know what he believes or if he even believes in anything anymore.
