It's a weird social thing and psychological thing.

Personal (i.e., family) bathrooms are different because (a) you only use it one at a time, normally, and (b) these are people who have probably seen you naked.

In the workplace, half the people are trying to maintain some sort of image. Toilet habits have a way of shedding a different light on somebody. Especially if they had a curry the night before.

Personally, though, I couldn't care less the sex of co-habitants of the bathroom.

Have you ever used unisex loos in the workplace to know if you would be "fine" with it?

(Just curious btw as i would never have said I really cared, but it obviously bothers me)

Aye, I have done.

I actually prefer there to be nobody about at all, regardless of whether they're male or female ;)

we have a disabled loo on the floor I work on and since theres no disabled people in this building everyone uses it, but this is a single loo not toilets with seperate cubicles.

I have no problem using it and I know males also use it.

I really don't see why all loos in companies can't be unisex and just get rid of the urinals, but thats just me.

There's always the danger of guys not putting the seat up and peeing all over it...

One of the weirdest loos I've been in was a unisex one in a coach station in London, where there was a big long glass window and people could see you washing your hands.

Also, it always baffles me how they like to have seperate loos in smaller restraunts. I mean, they have precisely two small rooms with a toilet each, so why bother labelling one "gents" and the other "ladies"?

Also, the seat should be electrified on the underside at the back so that any wayward aiming will complete a circuit.
