Keahi Journal Entry 2

I have at last found the fruit of my labor and I must say it is quite worth every horrible moment of the journey--and that includes being this close to Nexus. My companions remain with me, and in fact have grown again as Dream adds another two women and a furry thing to his entourage. I will have to remember to ask him more about himself later on. Haze has remained too, and I am very grateful since I have recently discovered she is a solar! I have heard my grandfather talk about the solars, but I have not met one in person before--until now. It is good that, althought I am a dragon blooded, she does not hold any of the prejudices that most people do upon hearing my name. This works doubly in my favor since I also remember her saying something about being from Lookshy. THe last thing I need at this moment is to be dragged before the gates of that place. I'll never make it out alive.

Haze, however, is not the only Solar I have met. Upon entering the temple through a small crack, the seven of us were met by what I assume to be a treasure hunter. Although all of us were upfront with him, he did not return the favor. I can understand his hatred of my kind, after all many of us deserve it. I do not understand his continued brashness after it was made clear that I was not after him like the other "lizard heads" (his phrase, I actually like it very much and must remember to use it in the future.) My one and only concern was beginning my work on the manse. His presence was an annoyance, but it was clear he would not really give me trouble. Or so I thought. I am extraordinaly patient for one of my Aspect, but it is never a good idea to push me, especially when I am making it clear I'm not out to hurt anyone. This incident also obviously made my companions nervous. It was one thing for me to simply have a Realm name, it's an entirely different matter when I am part of what makes the Realm go. I am trying hard to understand this, but it's rare that hearing my name--well my husband's name I guess--does not afford me at least some gruding respect.

I prefer to focus on the positive, however. The manse is everything I could hope for and more. I could, as I explained to Dream, spend weeks discussing the unique architecture alone. THe entire story of the Mehadi founder has been written on a door that only a Solar can open. This was how I discovered the truth about Haze. Perhaps Dream is right about the existance of Fate after all. One thing I know is that the Realm can not get their hands on this place. Ever.
