I say that because my boss is acting like I already have it, but I still need to get through a few other people (but I think they only look at my resume and my manager's comments) and pass my background check. Congrats on the job prospects. That sounds exciting.

And I totally agree with you about the anxiety about retirement. A lot of mine and Kevin's current life is designed so we can retire decently. We're on track to pay off all our debt in 23 years or less (mortgage included) and hope to save something like 18-20 million in the next 40 years. This does include his 401k. But we're not adding any debt at all, only drive one car, don't go on vacation, etc. We furthermore plan to never move so we don't have to buy a new house ever again. As it stands, we should be pretty well set, but we're not banking on social security existing.

Sweets, it may be possible to pay that off sooner and still let you actually LIVE while still saving for college for teh kiddies...but I can try to get you to make an appointment later.
