Dear, these are lovely! You really managed to capture the glow of the roses...

Wow. I am in awe.

Oh thank you! I love roses, and painting them too!

I like this very much. All the details in the background, and the colours in it are really nice.

Thank you! I think the leaves on the roses need more work, but I like all of those muted and earthy greens and browns. It makes me want to be there!

These still need some work? I would give my left arm (not my right as I am right-hand dominant) to be able to paint like you do! These are beautiful and something I would sure be happy to see hanging in my living room over the fireplace in a place of honor. Beautiful shading and depth. At first I thought these were photographs of plants in your garden that you had decided to post. Photographers are artists as well.

Bravo!

Oh thanks! You're very kind! Well, I tend to be too perfectionist, and if there is something that I don't like it's going to bother me, even when I think about it years later. Crazy - I know, but that's me!

The background in the garden one needs something extra - I think the statue needs to be altered to make it look more far away - blurred or something.

The other painting is supposed to be like a pool of water with roses growing over it, but I couldn't get the petal reflections in the water to look right, so I sort of gave up on it. The water also needs to look more like water! I was going by different photographs in which I picked out certain elements as reference, and put the composition together myself. So it was difficult to get the water right because I didn't have an exact reference to go by.

Oh yes - I completely agree that photographers are artists! It takes quite a bit of skill to get the picture just right with the light, exposure and all of that! I would love to be able to even be an amateur photographer!
