A good friend of mine, equinox-blue, recently made my day by writing me a wonderful Jo/Laurie ficlet called Out of, Right In, Place, which I really would recommend checking out since it's achingly beautiful. Normally I'd love to jump onto the RP bandwagon, but I just don't have a feel for the characters, sorry :/

Ah, thank you for the offer anyway, Ed! They're definitely hard to get into at first, being all... Victoriany while still having all that passion beating underneath the barely repressed, uh, repression. Honestly, given that they're from Little Women, I find it heroic that you're still reading. ;)

And how are you, hon? I've been shit at keeping track of friends from my old fandom because, um, I suck. Are you still writing FFXII work or have you moved on? I need to check your journal now...

Wow, you WANT to be in school?! O.o My god, you poor thing... you MUST be stressed out. I can't imagine wanting to voluntarily be back to the grind if anything was different!

I *miss* RPing with you! But, you know, backpacking around China and stuff (I think I've failed at life when, somewhere in between roaming an incredibly interesting and exciting country, I find myself missing having time to sit around and write. Or, you know, getting horribly distracted at a net cafe when my plan for the day is to cross over the border to Macau.)

Jo is pretty hard to work around in terms of the whole sex thing, but I think that's part of the fun. She gets to be surprised by the process, and have experience it for the first time and stuff. Not sure how to go about writing it from the male POV either. Maybe you could try reading some books that have good explicit descriptions from the man's pov, to draw inspiration? Or, I don't know, read through a few issues of a men's magazine?

Oh, and thanks for reccing my fic! :)

Ah, I miss talking to you so much as well! And I totally understand about how you can end up missing the little things even when you're off on a fabulous vacation. I went off to North Carolina for a few days for vacation and you know I got twitchy after a few days without my beloved lap-top and the ability to write anytime I pleased. Although I'm still hoping you're getting some awesome pictures and adventures to relate to once you're back to having regular internet service! ;)

I am so going to email you a big chunk of A Night to Remember's last chapter, just so you can tell me if Jo's too out of character. I like this idea of her surprising the hell out of Laurie by being her usual reckless, curious, intensely brave self during bed-- instead of some wan, helpless virgin he's expecting out of any wedding night with a virtuous woman-- but I'm not sure if it's IC after having her angst about her attractiveness at the beginning of the series. ::sigh:: I guess I'll just have to cobble her together as best as I can ( ... )
