I'm trying to work on this series a little more quickly-- thus the reason that chapter 3 is up so soon after chapter 2. It's a little shorter than the previous chapter but by god, we finally introduce more of the starring cast... including not one but two gentlemen who influence the story line for many arcs to come. If you're following this series

I have to say I'm very impressed with your writing and the way you've gotten both universes to meld together so seamlessly. This is just very wonderful and I really do look forward to the next chapter.

And thank you so much for the kind words! In a strange sort of way, I kind of feel as though Little Women and the Nolanverse-- strange though it may seem-- are a natural fit for each other. Jo March is one of the all-time heroines of classic children's lit because she's so funny, feisty and capable of being ferocious, so making her a femme fatale (or should it b femme fatalistic?) running around trying to stop crime was pretty easy. And Laurie is such an intense, passionate character that it's actually not that hard picturing him putting on a cowl and trying to fight evil in the most direct way possible. So really, I have to wonder why no-one else thought of it first!

I'm not sure why no one though of this crossover/AU either, it does go well together with the story lines if you just tweak a few things!
Also, I always loved Jo and Laurie together, it's really the only thing that (I'll be honest and say I've never read the book) in the movie bugged me in the end. So this story just makes me all kinds of happy.

Can't believe Fred's impatience...surely thirty minutes isn't too long to wait for a woman's trip to the powder room? ~_^ No, but seriously, what did he get up to? <.< >.> <.<
*Sigh* the first look at Laurie in so many years...isn't it startling when you run into an old flame (or...whatever?) after so long? And you captured the feeling very well, the remorse, fear, longing, without feeling any more over-the-top than you actually feel in that scenario. Love especially the description of the cheekbones "looking almost strong enough to cut through the Mediterranean-dark skin of his cheeks..."
A little confused at this bit; "And yet, even though the thought of these men made Jo roll her eyes on her better days and spit like a camel on her worse ones, they were far worse than the other sort of men who tended to flock to her..." (emphasis added by moi) Are the previously mentioned actually supposed to be worse, or the rock-flingers worse? I thought you meant the obsessive stone ( ... )
