Dean hopes that whoever he’s talking to will come and take him back home.

♥ ♥ ♥

This is a beautiful look at how difficult it would be to come back to one world after being in another for so very long. It's something I wish both the show would have featured, and authors would focus more on, and I love you for going there. You really captured a sense of dissociation with your writing here, and all the ways you show us how Dean has been conditioned are chillingly awesome. LOOOOOOVE.

OOPS I MISSED YOU D: DAMN YOU ALI FOR MAKING IT LOOK LIKE I HAD RESPONDED TO THIS ALREADY. Another dissociation fan, totally!

I would do ridiculous things for more of this. I'm really glad the conditioning worked, because with the Stockholm Syndrome type thing D/A had going on, there was no way this wouldn't be an issue when he got back. Arghhhh thinking about this makes me all sad again. THANK YOU <3

AHHHH OMG OKAY NO I DON'T MIND. (although I wouldn't say no to that other fic, noooooope!) WIERUO2U3OEJAFLSJSKJDS

THIS IS AWESOME. It's exactly what I've wanted for so long (like, FOOD? people eat stuff because it tastes good? huh, interesting) and man, this body's so weak, it needs sleep? Weird. I totally see what scene inspired this, and I LOVE it, the dependenceeee. So sad too, because while he recognizes that he has a close relationship with Sam, he can't feel it, really. To feel awkward in your own skin?

Dean drags his eyes up to the mirror and sees his unaged face, the smooth skin, the light brown hair. His eyes, dull, the lighting almost making them appear black.

“A long time,” he repeats.ahhhhhhhh omg ;_ ( ... )

Maybe someday! :D

I knowwwww. I feel like most of this was all your ideas, sooooo. Also I'm not sure if I took too much from your fic, but I've decided that this is the prequel, okay. YOUR TURN.

I think what I want most of all is the casual tanglement? haha you know what I mean! But like, having Alastair around is so second nature that he keeps forgetting Alastair isn't around anymore, and Sam's all WTF but Dean's all smiles and THAT'S NOT HOW ALASTAIR DOES IT or ALASTAIR SAID THAT BLAH BLAH. Then there's angry vengeful!Sam who's just like SHUT UP OKAY THIS IS FUCKED UP.

I'm so so glad this helped even a little. I love youuu and and am still sending you my very best thoughts and wishes!

Where the hell was all this on the show?!?!? Pun totally intended! I swear I will never understand after a summer of waiting for broken Dean or evil Dean or something different cause he went to hell for 40 years which was longer than he was even alive on earth Dean. And we got bubkas. Nada. Nothing. Now Sam gets all the torment and flashbacks? What hell only get's really bad after the first 50 years? That's why I always seek out these stories, I need to fill that aching gap that never got filled on the show. Brilliant here. Thank you.

I do like how they've been treating Dean's depression this season, but yeah, I'll admit to being really bummed out about the immediate aftermath/adjustment period when he first got back. It just wasn't realistic. Part of it is that I believe the show kind of got in over their heads, because who has ever been to hell for forty years and come back? They probably had no idea how to deal with the aftermath of that and progress with the huge plotline for that season, so they kind of ignored realism for the sake of the plot. I was also a bit baffled that they're willing to go there with Sam, but like you said, that's what fic is for! This fandom is definitely excellent for that :)

Yes! Yesyesyes!!

This. Is so what I need with all of Sam's hallucinations and hell trauma right now.

It's totally head canon for me. Dean's Stockholm syndrome. Yes. A million times.

Thanks for giving us what show so criminally neglected.

This confirms my theory that whereever show fails you guys will be there to fix it. I adore you! <3

Aw, I totally know how you feel. Hellfic is probably my favorite kind because I really wanted more than the show gave. Fandom hasn't disappointed in that area at all, so I'm grateful there! Thank you so much for the lovely comment! :)
