Brigitte and I only lived in New Orleans for 7 years, and we have no family there (aside from the people we met who we adopted or who adopted us). But we met each other there, we conceived our children there, we went through our hard times and our good times. When people ask us where we are from, we say New Orleans.

I miss New Orleans almost all of the time. Odd how she works. She had been coaxing me to get there from the age fifteen, Matty too. Yet we both ended up there in the same month and year. She did that on purpose. She also threw tests at our life together. What a black magick woman she is.
