Wow!!!!!

I got to assist in a surgery today.  It was the most amazing experience I have ever had.  Everything is starting to come together, and I feel so accomplished.  It is true what they say about surgery pumping your adreneline.  I still feel stoned and it's been over 4 hours now since I left. :)

One of the most amazing experiences I've ever had was a multiple chest shot in the ER. I got passed the (active) aortal clamp and told "Here, hold this steady". I don't think I breathed right for an hour.

It was fun and I learned a ton in the ER. Carrying a few bodies to the morgue was humbling and good. But overall I'm much happier as medical support staff rather than front end patient care.

Cheers and keep on trucking! It's good to see you enjoying life.

Got to be in for a pericentesis and a TIPS. The anesthesiologist had me help with her masking and set up all her lines. He taught me a bunch of stuff. I got to do my first Foley. Which was nice since she was under general and I didn't have near the nerves. For the first part of the surgery and prep it was just me, the nurse, and the anesthesiologist. They were both teaching me everything they could. It was awesome sauce!

Whoo Hoo! Fun huh? Yesterday we got to wash out a wound on some guy's arm where he'd tried to catch his radio controlled helicopter and it'd chopped a big hole in his arm. Cool stuff I tell you. The rest of the day was a lipoma excision, 2 right inguinal hernia repairs and a breast reduction. I love my job, even when it's routine, it's different every day. So glad to hear you're happy. Einar (who was just reading over my shoulder) is hoping you'll get done with school and get a job up here with Kaiser so you and your man will be up here. That would be lovely...

The plan is to be up there sometime in the next couple of years. I am supposed to give Banner three years back to pay back the loan. We will see if that actually happens. We are both excited to make it up that way :)
